Here is what I have on this family.
6f.5a) Lucy CLEVENGER, a d/o Elkanah D. “Dock” & Mary J. (Young) Clevenger,
was born in 1887, in IL, date and place unknown She apparently died before
1900 census, as she is not listed in this family in Stoddard County, MO.

Clevenger, was born in Nov 1888, in IL, date and place unknown. She was listed as

Elkanah D. Clevenger was born in 1858 in Wayne County, IL and married Mary J.
Young on January 27, 1887 in Wayne County, IL when she was only 15 years old.
She is the daughter of James A. Young and L.M. Shoemaker.
I only had info on two children for him, but am not a direct descendent so
didn't look for more.
Lucy M. Clevenger was born November 1887 in Wayne County, IL and
Oscar Clevenger was born June 30, 1892 also of Wayne County.
Elkanah D. Clevenger was named for his uncle Elkanah DELANY Clevenger.
His father was Daniel H. Clevenger of Harrison County, VA. and moved to Wayne
County, IL with his father William Cleavenger, also of Harrison County, VA in
the 1830s.
Elkanah D. Clevenger's mother was Winnie Sophia Gallaspey Clevenger. She had
married Daniel H. Clevenger in October 1848 in Big Mound Twp. Wayne County,
IL. After the death of his father in August 28, 1893, Elkanah moved with his
mother to Griffithville, Arkansas. He wrote a letter to the pension board to see
if he could have his mother's pension from his father's service in the War. He
stated in the letter that he was blind.
His mother is buried at the New Dogwood Cemetery near Griffithville,
Arkansas.
In the 1900 census, Elkanah D. Clevenger is shown on the same page as his
younger. brother George W. Clevenger. The will of Daniel H. Clevenger can be
found in the Wayne County, IL Courthouse in the Circuit Court records.
Hope this helps. When and where did Elkanah D. Clevenger die? Our common
ancestor is Elkanah D. Clevenger's grandfather, William Cleavenger the pioneer
from Harrison County, VA and Wayne County, IL and probably other places that I
have not found, but would love to.
