Sheila,
I have some information on your family line. I would gladly share what information I have on the Clevengers. Very distantly we are cousins. Which one of Elmer's children is your parents? 1920 census shows Elmer & Catherine with 2 sons--Grant & Blair.
Linda

Just recently developed an interest in discovering my roots (my maiden name is Clevenger). In my research, I found that my family originated from the Fulton County, PA area. My great-grandfather was Oliver Franklin Clevenger (b.3 NOV 1863); married Minerva Norris (b:1868 d:6 MAY 1927). My grandfather was Elmer Clevenger (b: ?; d:before 1980). He married Catherine Mellott (b:20 MAY 1895; d:19 SEP 1965).
Any additional information anyone has on this side of the Clevenger family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Sheila

Jim,
I also descend from Thomas Clevenger thru his daughter Rachel who married Caleb
O'Dell.
Do you have any info on Thomas's wife, Psyche Pittman?
I've seen various spellings, dates and places of birth mentioned but the only
sources they use are someone's gedcom- never any actual documents quoted or
anything.
Any help in tracing her will be appreciated.

Andy,
Great to hear from you. I have included the image of an outline descendant report for RACHEL CLEVENGER in the attachment which shows the connection between Rachel and my Grandmother (now deceased), GERTRUDE BEATRICE ODELL. I have also included known siblings of my direct ancestors. Do we share any other ancestors?
I do have information on Thomas and his wife Nellie Larkin who he married 07 Aug 1762 but none so far other than Rootsweb on his wife SITCHE PITTMAN (who I am assuming for now was the mother of RACHEL CLEVENGER, wife of CALEB ODELL. Contact me at jhousto4(a)ix.netcom.com and I'll be glad to share whatever I have on this family.
Jim Houston

The surname Klevenz (Klefenz) can be found in the villages of Rauenberg, Malsch and Sankt Leon. These towns are in Baden between Heidelberg and Karlsruhe. Prior to Napoleon they were in the Bishopric of Speyer and thus the residents were mostly Catholic.
