William Cleavenger md. Mary Ann Knight in Harrison County, VA in 1812. The
will of Bailey Knight was executed in 1839, thirteen years after Mary Ann Knight
Cleavenger had died in 1822. Bailey had mentioned her two oldest daughters
who may be in need of a marriage bed, being 17 and 16 years of age respectively.
Some researchers, who have never seen the original will have mistakenly
placed Mary Ann Knight as a daughter of James Knight (son of Bailey Knight),
without knowing the particulars. Sally and Mary Ann Cleavenger are the oldest
daughters of William Cleavenger and Mary Ann Knight Cleavenger.

Is there anyone out there working on the maternal sides of the Cleavenger
line. I am particularly interested in the wife of Edmon Cleavenger, Elizabeth
Knight
Has anyone done any research on the Knight family name.
Also,
William Cleavenger who married Mary Ann Knight in
Harrison County, VA in Oct. 12 1812.
Is any one working on this Knight family?

I was looking over some old letters and ran across one from Iretta Talbot of
Oklahoma. She mentioned two things that struck me as needing more info.
Has any one a list of the Cleavenger Cemetery in Galloway, WV tombstones?
Has any one ever saw a middle initial for Edmon Cleavenger b. 1783 Virginia
who married Elizabeth Knight.(Harrison County, VA)
Ireta has this info:
"Edmund B. Cleavenger born c1783 d1849 m. Elizabeth Knight then brother
William married Mary Knight. Suppose Mary & Elizabeth were sisters?
They started from town-Winchester Va to Harrison County Simpson's Creek.
There is a Cleavenger Cemetery at Galloway WVa."

Does anyone know any information about Mahala Clevenger who was born in 1833
and married Joseph Thompson. They married in 1853 and started for Iowa. Mahala
Clevenger also had a sister who was named Mary A. Clevenger, maybe a twin. It
sounds like she was born in Harrison County, VA or Lewis County, VA. They are
listed in the 1860 & 1870 census in Iowa.
