Hi. I am looking for him or his family. (He would have been born probably between 1905 and 1926) I see there is an Alfred G. in Texas, if he is in your line please contact me. tpaynter(a)centurytel.net
He was in the Army Airborne during WW2. He was in the 17th Airborne Division/139th Engineer Battalion at one time in his military career and possibly transferred to the 101st or the 82nd Airborne when the 17th was disbanded in 1945. He would have been in the Engineer Battalion, HQ & S or medical.
I am in the process of writing a book about the Battalion and would like to have him contact me. If he is no longer with us, I'd like the family to touch base with me to give me a summary of his life since the service. This also will be in the book.
I have also succeeded in getting these WW2 Heros to touch base again with their comrades after not seeing each other for almost 60 years. Their reunions have been wonderful.
This project is so important because 17 million personnel files were destroyed in the 1973 file in St. Louis MO. I want to make sure that these men will never be forgotten and will be put in the history books for generations to come!
Thank you for all leads to help me on this tribute to our WW2 Heros.
Sincerely,
Tammy Paynter

I would like to announce that a CLEVENGER Y-chromosome DNA surname project has been started. For information, please see my web site at:
http://dgmweb.net/genealogy/DNA/C/ClevengerDNA.shtml
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
The newest tool in genealogical research is the use of male DNA to establish
origins and extend ancestral lines. A CLEVENGER Y-chromosone DNA Surname
Project has now been opened. The greater the number of participants, the greater
is the possibility of positive results. All male Clevengers (including
variant spellings) are urged to participate.
For information on how it all works, contact
