Some of the children of John and Mary (LaFollette) Lee are
Shadrach Lee b. ca 1791 m. Delilah Clevenger ca 1810 Cumberland Co., KY
Mark Lee b. ca 1791 m. Lucy Unknown ca 1812 near Cumberland Co., KY
Joseph L. Lee b. 15 May 1794 East TN m. Mary Polly Mayberry 7 May 1818 Ky
Charles Lee b. ca 1795 m. Jane Fleming, Overton Co., TN
John Lee b. ca 1798 KY m. Margaret Fleming, ca 1820 Overton Co., TN
Usual Lee b. 1806 KY m. Elizabeth Lee 7 Feb 1827 Jennings Co., IN
William Lee m. Oney P. Bow KY/TN
Very likely Mary Polly Mayberry, who married Joseph L. Lee, was a daughter of Braxton Mayberry. Other people say that another daughter of Braxton, Elizabeth, married Job Carter; this seems likely since Job Carter moved to Macoupin Co., IL with Reubin Clevenger, Maximillian Mayberry, and others. Consequently, I am looking for more information about the Mayberry's, Clevenger's and Carter's.

The 1810 and 1820 Cumberland Co., KY censuses list a Shadrach (Shedrick) Lee living next to a John Lee. I believe this John Lee to be the one who married Mary LaFollette 27 Jul 1790 Nelson Co., KY, and Shadrach appears to be John's son. I have not found Shadrach in the 1830 or later censuses.
Another son of John was Mark b. ca 1791 and the following deed shows that Mark and Reuben Clevenger lived close to each other or maybe Mark was living with Reuben: "James W. Taylor, 50a, Wolf River where Reuben Clevinger & Mark Lee now lives; c.c. Shadrick Lee & Reuben Clevinger; Mark Lee, Sam’l Cole, 9/1/1818, Cumberland Co., KY". Because of this I have long suspected a Lee/Clevenger connection. Mark's wife's name was Lucy, but the last name is unknown.
Is there a record of some kind, that shows Shadrach married Delilah Clevenger? Also, do you know of connections between the Clevenger's and Mayberry (Mabry) and Carter families. They lived near each other in the early 1800's in Cumberland Co. and some them were in Macoupin Co., IL by 1830.

Hi Pam,
I still haven't figured out how the Clevengers are related to the Baty family. We think it is through Minnie Cox Clevenger's family but were unable to find a tie (although we have learned a lot about her). Any information you might have on Posey Brown Clevenger or Minnie Cox Clevenger would be appreciated.

Doddridge Chapel is a church founded in Wayne County, Indiana in the
early 1800s. Members of the Doddridge, Jenkins, Spahr, Henwood and
Clevenger families were among the first members. The June 28th letter
below tells of an August 10th reunion at the chapel.
Dear Friends,
Following last weeks meeting of the Doddridge Community Cemetery
Association, I write to let you know about the Sunday afternoon, August
10th, the Summer Celebration/Reunion and to share some recent items. Tell
friends and family.
In January, Christina Clevenger was elected association president and
Paul Hedges treasurer. Three community family burials within the past
year were Patrick, son of Bonnie and Paul Hedges on July 5, Wilbur
Clevenger on February 24 and Reid Doddridge on May 19.
Major repairs and restoration have been made on the chapel belfry and a
replacement weathervane is ready to be put up. Application with the
National Registry of Historic Places has been completed, revised again
and again, and a report on it is set for late July.
As Reid used to write, money is still a major need with the Community
Cemetery Association, especially now with these belfry repairs and
national registry expense. Paul Hedges, 5809 Tice Road, Centerville, IN
47330, will be glad to hear from you and receive your help.
In preparation for the 2 PM August 10th event, Saturday, June 26 will be
Doddridge Cemetery Work Day (prune, clean, spruce up, etc.) beginning at
7 AM. Come when convenient, work wherever you wish, enjoy some time
together helping preserve and restore this part of Gods good earth on
this beautiful summer day. Bring your tools, friend and family, all ages.
Doddridge Cemetery Flag Day - Saturday, July 9.
Please tell your friends and families about August 10th. Also let
Christina Clevenger (4720 Clevenger Road, Centerville, IN 47330,
765-855-2479) hear from you, especially if you and your family cannot
come.
You can be proud of your Community Cemetery and Chapel and of the Still
Waters Baptist Church which is happy to hold lease to use this historic
chapel.
We shall welcome word from you and to see you and your family and friends
at 2 PM on Sunday, August 10, if possible.
God bless you each and all,
Dr. Jon Morgan
Coalition Chair

I have a letter, from my grand mother's things, where someone named Pearl ___________ refers to family members of Clevenger, Clifton and some of my Freeman family members. The letter is dated Dec. 1996 and is from an address in Onalaska, WA; however, I cannot find Pearl or husb. Ralph at this address; also, the label doesn't have their last name on it, either. My grandmother was a FREEMAN and i'm her eldest grand daughter, doing family genealogy research. So, I would greatly appreciate any info. you have on this family and any possible connections. Thanks so much! God bless!
