Thank you. I know I have seen the name Elijah Abel but haven't been able to look.I will give you a rundown on what I have without going into my records to give specifics.
I have information on three brothers families.
John Abel; Francis Abel and our Lewis Abel.
They all were born about 1755. They came into Wythe Co., Va. early and then died.
Some of the children of each came into tenn.
There was a Thomas Abel of N. C. who I believe connected to them. There was a james Abel who I really believe was their father but could have been a brother in Montgomery Co., va. C: Rev War era. A James Abelcame to jefferson Co., Tn. early and it could have been him.
Our line was Lewis to John David to James Christopher Abel who was born 1818 in Knox Co., Tn.

Hi Diana, We have written before and I gave you some minimal info on Mabel. I have photos of your family and the wedding announcement of Mabel and Seth which shows they were not married in Union City. This invit. was sent to my great grandmother. Please contact me and maybe we can come up with some more exchanges.

I will look in my Abel notebook for I have been collecting Abel genealogy since 1953.
I have done a book on the Lewis Abel family of Va. to tenn. but I think I have run across something that MIGHT help.
My husband desc. from the Abel and Clevenger family on the same side of the tree.
Are you sure Massigals was not Massingale? This is an old Tenn. line. The computer cut off part of your genealogy in my machine. Where does the census say that your Elijah Abel was born. That might help me. kay

I am almost through a HANKINS book and I would like to know if I can quote from those few court records. I am not doing a Clevenger book but would like to list who the children might be of John and George and a little on them. Some of those desc. of the people in the list follow the Hankins
In that list of 200 people was there a HINDS listed? Do you have the whole list?
Kay

Can you tell me if I would be able to include this in a Hankins book that I am working on.
I would like to include what I jave on the Clevengers which isn't much. I believe some of these peoples lines connect to the hankins in Tenn. and it would be good to show them in N. J.

Hi, Kay, You are obviously very knowledgable about the lines. I want to become more involved but probably won't until I retire! The letter, or at least part of it, is in the Griffiths book. If you would like, I can copy it from the book and send it to you -- sometime this week? Just let me know! Carol

First I will bet your line from Cocke Co., Tn. Clevenger came
from Frederick Co., Va. Possibly via Jefferson Co., Tn. or a county near.
Do you have a copy of the letter from the king?
My husbands' line is George and Sarah Haddon Clevenger to John of N. J. to Mary who married 1728 Thomas Hankins in N.J. They came to Frederick Co., Va. by 1729
