Thanks for the info about name origin and Key-keeper discription. I lose mine constantly! Its become a standing joke too often. I can't seem to locate my particular strain of Ozark Missouri Clevengers. Siegel, (Grandfather) did lead me to one of my Dad's (Lester) cousins who's my age. Thanks for your contribution to unraveling the name anyhow!

Marion Huskey Clevenger was never adopted, here is the
URL of my web page: http://www.viagrafix.net/smokey
I've also found records of sorts, am trying to confirm them.
That Lucinda was married to Micheal Barry Clevenger before,
her sister Mary Ann Huskey married him. If I could find this,
we could prove once and for all that Marion is in fact the son
of Micheal Clevenger, relatives in Illinois tell me that he is
in fact the son of Micheal Clevenger. This is all I know for
now, am still researching.

Have you looked at the George Griffiths book which traces the Clevengers back to the 14th century in England?

Just saw this message--not the original question. There is a Clevenger cemetery west of Girard, Ill. on what is called the Emerson Airline---the road from Girard to Palmyra.
This cemetery was discovered within the last 20 years and is described in Marge Clevenger's book about the Clevengers in Macoupin County, Ill. I know my great-great grandfather, Joshua Pitman Clevenger, his sons, one of whom is my great-grandfather--Michael Berry Clevenger, the other, John
Berry Clevenger, and probably, Joshua's brother, Reuben are buried there.
There are other graves but the markers were not found.
This cemetery is on the property surrounding the "new"
Otter Lake, and was discovered when timber was cleared for that lake. It is most accessable from the lake, by boat.
Marge and Ron Clevenger cleared the cemetery and do visit it periodically. They live in Silvis, Ill.
Also, Shawn Corder has done a great amount of research on Clevengers and visits and records information from such cemeteries around the country. Don't know if this is helpful or not. Hope so. Carol Clevenger Gilster

Duane, I am looking for info on Rachael Clevenger Born about 1780. She married Caleb Odell and they lived in Cocke County, Tennessee. Their children were Caleb Jr., Nancy and Orpha. Orpha married James Hicks and moved to Orrick, Missouri. Do you have any info on this line? I was born in Excelsior Springs and lived there from 1956 to 1961. Our neighbors were Clevengers, when did you live there? I remember they had several boys and one daughter. Please let me know if you have any info on Rachael. Thanks, Belinda
