Hello all!
I'm new to the mailing list and am just beginning to research the family tree. I thought I'd follow the family's example and send out what I have on my family tree thus far. My paternal Grandfather's line that I have is:
Benjamin and Margaret (?) Clevenger to
James and Mary (Goldsbury) Clevenger to
Jesse James and Otis Grace (Harris) Clevenger to
Lynn Robert and Sarah Elizabeth (O'Dell) Clevenger to
my father Orville Roy Clevenger.
My paternal Grandmother's line that I have is:
Caleb and Rachel (Clevenger) O'Dell to
Edwin and Lettie (Clevenger) O'Dell to
Jesse and Henrietta (Hightower) O'Dell to
Edwin and Serah Elizabeth (Sisk) O'Dell to
Otha and Cornelia (Smart) O'Dell to
Lynn Robert and Sarah Elizabeth (O'Dell) Clevenger which are obviously my grandparents. The Clevenger blood also goes through the Hightowers since Henrietta's mother was Elizabeth Clevenger.
I'll save my questions for later, thanks for reading my history!!

Thank you to those that responded to my note seeking info regarding Mahala Alexander.
Sarah, I will write Chillicothe, MO for Mahala's death certificate. If I get a confirmation that her Father is Seth (and I strongly suspect he is), I will post to this list the little bit that I know about him and his family.
BTW, I am interested in Mahala because her sister, Mary, was a gggrandmother. I, and a newly-discovered cousin, have being striking out in our search for the ancestry of their father and mother.
Thanx again

A check of the 1870 McDonough Co census might give the answer as to who her
father was. Mahala was buried in Edgewoos Cemetery in Chillicothe, MO and Geo
married for a third time in 1920, so Mahala may have died ca 1918. If so, you
may be able to get a death certificate for Mahala and that should give her
father's name.

Hi....I'm new to the list. I thought maybe someone could help.
George W. Clevenger married Mahala Alexander in McDonough Co., IL on May 4, 1874.
I hoping that someone knows this Mahala. I'm hoping she is the daughter of Seth Alexander and that you will have info about him and his family.
Thanx
