Hi All
I'm new to your list. I searched the archive for Zachariah and found a few, but not mine! But isn't that how it always goes!
My Zachariah Clevenger had a brother named James, I believe. But this relationship is pure speculation and we all know how dangerous that can be in this field!
Zachariah was born in 1865 and died in 1926. He is buried in Muncie, Delaware County, IN. He married Nora Bell Perkins in 1886 in Madison County, IN. That is information that has been given to me; I have not checked it out.
Nora Bell Perkins is the person I am related to; her grandfather was my great great great grandfather, and I am trying to complete the tree DOWNWARDS - not backwards for a change. I will gladly exchange any info that anyone would like if they are interested in this line.
Nora Bell and Zachariah had a daughter named Exie May Clevenger.
Nora Bell Perkins had a sister named Melissa who married a James Clevenger.
Any help on this out there?
Oh yeah; just to throw in the mix a little: Nora and Melissa's grandmother's maiden name was Allen. There seems to be a lot of those in the early Clevenger side also.

My mother is reading the book, Life History of J.V.B. Flack, D.D., by
Himself. Introduction and Conclusion by Rev. Jerry Clevenger. This was
published in 1912 and found recently at our Clevenger homestead in Ray
County. She found a newspaper article that had been cut out and placed in
the book. There is nothing to indicate a date or what newspaper it was
from.
Rev. Robert O. Clevenger
From his childhood, we have known the subject of this sketch; and his
parents before him now with the sainted dead. We have watched the career of
our young brother as a telegraph operator, a railroad agent and a clerk in
our service. We know of his long struggle for pardon, and for purity, and
was publicly praying in a Lord's day service, when the salvation of the Lord
fell upon our brother, and saw the flash of Divine glory as it came like
lightning upon him. Since then he has filled every office in the local
church of Christ; was licensed to preach and ordained under our ministry.
He took a course in theology in Christian Union College, and has filled the
responsible and laborious office of secretary of the Missouri Annual Council
for two terms; succeeding the writer, who had served in that capacity in
Missouri for 30 years. Bro. Clevenger is a man filled with noble ambition,
and when he speaks for the Master, the Holy Spirit recognizes this servant
of the King. Ill health of late years has greatly interfered with the
desired work of Bro. Clevenger. He is a relative of our famous Holy Ghost
evangelist, Rev. Jerry Clevenger of Springfield, Mo, --J.V.B.F.
This article also contained a picture of Rev. Robert O. Clevenger that I
would be glad to e-mail to anyone that wants it. I also have a scanned
photo of Jerry Clevenger that is from the book.
Is this the Robert O. Clevenger who is the son of Benjamin B. and Elizabeth
Clevenger? Does anyone know who Jerry Clevenger is? The article says he is
related, but I do not have a Jerry Clevenger in my database.
This book also mentions Rev. Andrew Arnote who is a direct ancestor of my
mother's.
I thought there might be some Clevenger descendants interested in this item
at Ebay.
