They are probably the same person. I didn't find an Elias in the 1850 NJ
census and there is one in Wayne Co, NY. Check the 1830 and 1840 NJ census
index and see if there are two Elias's about the same age. In 1850 I found
Elias on page 57 in Wayne Co and Lucinda Clevenger 13 b. NJ on page 70 of Wayne
Co, NY. She is exactly the right age for Prudence Little Clevenger ! Since
Elias did not have a wife listed in the census, Lucinda just about has to be
his daughter and living with friends or relatives. Check Lucinda out and see
if you can find out any thing about her or the family she was living with. They
could easily be relatives of his wife who apparently had just died. Let me
know what you find out.

The ancestor I am researching is an Elias Clevenger born 1802, Burlington
Co., NJ and married to Mahala Brown. He had at least one child; a daughter
Prudence Little Clevenger who married Stephen Courten.
I am trying to find out if the Elias Clevenger born 1802, Burlington Co.,
NJ and married to Lydia Soper is the same Elias Clevenger.
If any one is searching either of these two Elias Clevenger's and has any
infor-
mation on them, I'd love to hear from you.

Paul,
In looking for your O'Dell line, have you ever came across a Hannah
Katherine Odell b. 3 Sept. 1849 in Harlsville, Missouri, died June 1919.
She married Louis Cass Britton 1 March 1870.
They are my gr, gr grandparents. I have nothing on her.
Thanks for your time.

Paul: I am probably looking at the same sources as you on this question.
I don't know why the newspaper clipping referred to a Mrs. Mary Sisk,
but I note it accounts for all the living children except Narah Roe, who
married Luther Brizendine.
I am a Sisk descendant, as well as a Clevenger descendant, so your
question interested me. A Mary Sisk does not fit with what I have on
these families. Is it possible the newspaper is just flat wrong?
The Myra O'Dell is also a puzzler, and appears to be a mistake.
Phoebe's mother was Sarah (Sallie) Odell, daughter of Edwin Odell and
Lettis Clevenger. Phoebe's father was Caleb Odell, son of Nehemiah Odell
and Rachel McGuire. (At least that's what I have from various printed
sources). Don't know Myra Odell.

Dear Sarah,
Just got an e-mail from Seth's grand nephew. Seth died in 1950. So it does
fit as he must have had a late start in life having children. The other
surprise was that this grand nephew is in touch with my half-sister that I
have never met. The only problem is that she doesn't know about me. This
could create a problem. I am indecisive about her contacting me as I do not
know what to say about her father never telling her he had a child ( that's
me) before he married her mother. Boy what searching for your relatives will
turn up!
I will go back and look for the info on that census for you and get it to you
ASAP.
Thanks again Sarah
Diana
That is the fun of genealogy - helping others. I do have one reservation in
that Seth seems a little old to fit into your family, but there simply weren't
any other Clevengers in Idaho at that time and Seth is pretty unique name.

Dear Sarah,
As usual you come up with all the answers. That you so much for the info.
You just gave me my grandfather, Seth, that I never knew.
My deepest gratitude,
Diana Clevenger Yashar
Seth CLEVENGER and Mabel Estella Kenknight CLEVENGER lived in Cour D' Alene
Idaho. I think they were married in Michigan. I show John Z. Clevenger and
his wife Tabitha both born in Missouri and their children Nora and Gretta
living in the same Kootenai County Idaho in 1910. John was 50 then. Does
anyone know if John Z. Clevenger had a son named Seth? John Z. would be the
son of David J. Clevenger and Elizabeth. They are found in the 1870 Davies
County MO Census. David J.'s father is Zachariah and Rebecca Clevenger. If
Seth is John Z.'s son then I have a link. If not, I'm back to square one
again.
Thanks everyone,
Diana
There is a new Ray County, Missouri list for those with Clevenger's in that
county and surrounding counties of Ray.

A Clevenger descendant (and probably more than one) is on this list that I
know of. She knows the Ray County Clevengers pretty well (not personally
however :)
The Clevenger list and the Ray county list should go well hand in hand for its
subscribers.
I can't help Benjamin. Maybe someone on the list can. Please reply to him

Was corresponding with a fellow researcher and here is a contact. Candee

This is my only lead--
Lena Rivers Allen was born in Newport Tenn. in 1863. Her Fathers name was
Willian Henery Allen. He was killed in the Civil War and was supposed to
have some rank but I don't know what. I dont know what his wife's name was
she was married twice, first wife's last name might have been Clevenger
don't know about the second one.--My contact seems to be a bit confused
here on who was married twice, William Allen or his widow. So, it will be
a slim lead.

"Aunt Phoebe" Roe Has Eleven Children Living, Including 2 sets of Twins
One of the few pioneer Ray countians is Mrs. Phoebe Roe, 86 years old,
who lives about two- miles south west of Elkhorn on the same farm that
she and her husband, the late Thomas Roe, began, making their home a
short while after their marriage, many years ago. She is the mother of
15 Children.
She was born in March of 1852, the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Caleb O'Dell
and the grandaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Myra O'Dell. Her birthplace was
near Old Frederickburg southeast of Excelsior Springs. With the
exception of a short time,, all her life has been spent in Ray county.
"Aunt Phoebe," as she is better known, has eleven children living,
including two sets of twins; thre, who died in infancy; and one, William
Roe , who grew to manhood but died several years ago.
The Children living are: Mrs. Sarah Bryant and Mrs. Jane Rogers of
Kansas City (TWINS), Alfred and Allen Roe of the home (twins); Mrs.
Naomi Duncan of Rifle, Colorado; Mrs. Melinda Duncan of Richmond, Mrs.
Flora Hale of Kansas City; Jim Roe of Richmond, Mrs. Mary Sisk of west
of Elkhorn; J.C. Roe of Kansas City, and Miss Lucy Roe of the home.

I have two mysteries with the 1938 newspaper artical about "Aunt PHOEBE
ROE, the artical lists a daughter Mrs. Mary Sisk of west of Elkhorn,
Missouri. I do not have Mary listed in my data base as a child of THOMAS
HENRY ROE and PHOEBE (O"DELL) ROE. I checked the books; THE CLEVENGER
FAMILIES OF RAY COUNTY, MISSOURI, compiled by BARBARA PROFFITT, Carol

Ray O'Dell, neither book lists Mary. My Quetion is Dose anyone have the
birth dates, marriage dates & death dates and places for Mary Roe? What
was the full name and dates for her husband Mr. SISK?
Nest Mystery this newspaper Artical states that Aunt Phoebe (O'DELL)
Roe's was the grand daughter of Mr. & Mrs. MYRA O'Dell?
My Question: WHO WAS MYRA O'DELL? Who was his wife? Dose anyone have
dates and places for MYRA O'DELL and his wife? Any help Appreciated.

My Clevenger connection is Archibald Clevenger b. abt 1821 in Cooke Co., TN.
He Married Rachel Ann Alleb abt 1815
Their daughter Eliza Ann Clevenger B. 30 Aug 1853 Married Thomas M. Ozee.
I am not sure who Archibald's father was, Some think it was John and
Betsy,some show it as Elias.
I cannot find out Rachel's father and mother either.

Hi, Sarah,
I'm still looking for info on my grandfather, Blaine Clevenger and his family.
I've called some cousins and most of them knew just about the same things I
already knew.
According to your book, Blaine was the son of Tolbert Clevenger, son of Joshua,
son of Levi.
Blaine's wife was Tabitha Jayne Scarberry. They had seven children (one of
which was with Tabitha's sister). I know of only two siblings of Tabitha, one
of which married an Isaac(s).
If anyone has any information on Blaine, his family, anything(!) it will be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim Salyer
