currently is in the Kansas City MO/KS area. I will look in the Court
records of Monmouth County.

Sorry, I can't help with Sisha and Joseph, although I note I have five
Frakes who married Clevengers. That's on my mother's side.
On my father's side (and since you mentioned Missouri), I wonder if
you are connected with James Benjamin Bird who married Charlotte
Faubion. He was born about 1813. In the mid-1850s, the story goes, he
left home to go to work in Smithville, Mo., and was never seen again.

I have never heard of Prudence Little Clevenger, but since she
was from Monmouth, NJ she just about has to belong to "our" bunch of
Clevengers. Monmouth and Burlington is where they came from.
Was the family tallied in the 1860 census? If so, in what county
in New York? Knowing that would help figure out what branch she might
belong to.

Sisha probably is actually Psyche mispelled and misprounounced. She is
probably related to the Ray Co Clevengers. They were in Ray Co prior to
1820. There were Frakes that married Clevengers in Ray Co, but at a
later time. Missouri started recording deaths consistently after 1910,
so you might get lucky and her death certificate might give her parents.
Do you know where they were married and where their kids were born?
The Clevengers that settled in Ray Co were mostly the kids of Thomas and
Psyche (Pitman?) Clevenger who lived in Cocke Co, TN so it is likely that
she was named after her grandmother.

I am looking for information on Sisha Clevenger, born 10 January 1824 in
Missouri. She married Joseph Frakes. She probably passed away after
1914 as the family claims that she lived beyond 90 years of age. Both
Sisha and Joseph are buried in Kerlin Cemetery in Buchanan County, MO.
Thanks, in advance, for any help that anyone can give me.

I am searching for Three Margaret RAMSEY ancestors!!!!!
#1
Margaret RAMSEY b ca 1760 in Frederick County, VA who married Samuel
CLEAVENGER. They lived during their marriage years around Winchester, VA in
the late 1700's. Samuel CLEAVENGER died as a result of a runaway horse and
cart in 1803. He was a wagoneer. It is suggested that she is the widow of John
VANORT Would really appreciate any info that you can give.
#2
Margaret RAMSEYwife of John RAMSEY owned land in Frederick county, VA. John
and Margaret RAMSEY are possible in-laws of Samuel CLEAVENGER. The deed in
Frederick County, VA, was entered on January 1803 in which the legal
description of the land includes a mention of the Cleavenger property,
adjoining John Ramsey's land.
To the best of my ability it says: "Beginning at the White Oak comes to Joseph
CLEAVENGER & Jacob POINTER& ___ Emmons coming thence with EMMONS South 23 1/4
West 14 op a White Oak comes to _ Emmons & Thomas Fossett ....... to John
BOMINE and Joseph Clevinger ....Clevenger's line N66 1/4 W 117....Daniel
Strom's ......Thomas Farley."
#3
Margaret RAMSEY who married Alexander BELL May 21, 1646 in Parish, Scotland.
They were part of the BEALL Clan of Scotland.
I would be grateful for any assistance in tracing these three Margaret Ramsey
ancestor. Candee
Sarah, you are not going to believe this, but I just finished a letter to you tonight. I am going to mail it anyway. It contains my latest outline on the Clevengers, which has changed quite a lot from the earlier one I sent you. Now that you are "online" it will make things alot easier! Let me know if you get this message, just to make sure everything works correctly. Great to hear from you!

Sarah Clevenger
Hi:
I am new to this list. I am looking for information on Rhoda Clevenger
and Marrion Clevenger. I think they might be brother and sister or at
the very least cousins. Rhoda married John R. Butler in the early
1850's, probably in Page Co., IA. Marrion married Mary A. Butler,
sister to John R. Butler. Marrion and Mary were married on 09 April
1865 in Page Co., IA. That is all the info that I have on the 2. John
R. and Mary Butler were the children of Enos and Rebecca Reynolds
Butler.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Debbie

Carolyn, have you been able to connect to Sarah's e-mail address? It
doesn't appear to be working. According to her last Clevenger Connections
it is sclevenger(a)iquest.net
In Vidor, Texas there was an old obit that my mother kept. Here is a summary:
Louisa G. CLEVENGER, 81 of 6275 N. Main, Vidor funneral services. Died at
Schlesinger Geriatric Center, after an illness. A Webb City, Missouri native,
she lived in Vidor for 17 years and was a housewife. Survivors include her
husband, William H. CLEVENGER of Vidor. Three sons Thomas ARDIS and Howard
ARDIS, both of Vidor and Clinton F. ARDIS of Chandler, Ala. Her daughter,
Imogene WHITE of Stigler, Okla, a brother, John P. ALLEN of Schafter, Calif.
I am sending this along to the group. Do any of you know if this connects?
Thanks,
Carolyn P. Winch
