I have an album of portrait photographs dating from the late 19th
century. Some are known relatives of mine and some are not known. My
mother (Lucile Lawrence, 1902-1992) spoke of the unnamed photos as
belonging to the "Cleveland" crowd which she learned from her family
when she was a child, but she could provide me with no names for
them. They are still unknown.
The only connection I can make is one of my great grandfathers,
George Washington Lawrence (1838-1925), had an older brother, Samuel
Cleveland Lawrence (1835- ? ). The name Cleveland appears nowhere in
their father's ancestry. For their mother (my gggrandmother), Eliza
Ann Martin, I have no ancestry information, her parents being a
blank. But I suspect the name Cleveland comes via her. She was born
in NYC, 23 January 1810, and died in Newark NJ,11 February 1893. Does
anything in this brief description evoke a possible connection with
another subscriber's Cleveland family in the NYC northern New Jersey
area?

Hi Michelle,
I am a descendant of the Buck's. My gg grandfather was William E. Buck,
Mansfield, PA. As I said, I don't know if the girls names are their middle
names.
I was hoping the Cleveland/Cleaveland lines were looking for the impossible
to get passed their brick wall and help me with mine.
A cousin found the girls, I did not. I have no idea where his information
came from. Where he claims the information that particular office does not
exist. Have been trying really hard to get him to double check his source,
but no luck yet!!!
Thanks you for your time and trouble. Hopefully someone out there will be
searching.

Dear Jean,
I searched my database and do not have any "Buck" surnames. I do have many
"Burk" surnames, however. Is the Buck name a direct descendant of yours or
were you reading from a scanned document? If there is any possibility that
the name could have been "Burk" and not "Buck" I also looked for the Jane
and Mariette names and found nothing. How accurate is your source?
Will help if needs be.
Michelle

Hi All,
Jane and Mariette Buck married two Cleveland/Cleaveland people. Believe they married in Covington, Tioga Co, Pa back in the 1855-1860's. Unsure if they stayed in Covington, Tioga Co., Pa. Have been unable to locate in census as I have no first names for the Cleveland/Cleaveland gentlemen. Also, from family knowledge, the Buck relatives used their middle names a lot of the time, evidently they didn't like their real first names!. If you have any relatives in your branches and twigs that married into the Cleveland/Cleaveland lines and the maiden name was Buck, we very well may be related.
Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
