Have you tried the Cleveland Family Book published 1899? Many libraries have
it on micro flim or it can be ordered from National archives in DC, or it
could be when I ordered mine about 10 years ago. It is a world of information.

Thanks Anna...
I don't have any Cleveland's in my database, so I was surprised to hear from
Ms. York as well. That was the reason for my inquiry to the group. I may
have misrepresented her inquiry. After rereading her email, I discovered
that she said her husband's ggrandfather was Richard G. Grant, not hers. He
may well represent a branch of Thomas Grant's family that none of us have
found to date.
If you are any other in the group hear of something, I too would appreciate
hearing about it.
Allen Grant

Allen--- I know nothing about ms York, however I am interested in the
Cleveland line as my gggrandfather was Evan Cleveland and he was born in Tn in
1812, however no one seems to know who his parents were--- In 1830 he was married
in Illinois to Nancy Jordan, we have found no written record of this marriage
as they didn't start keeping records until 1836-- he died in Carmi Ill and
moved back and forth from White co, Ill to Posey county Indiana a number of
times---
I would appreciate any information regarding the Clevelands of Tn as it
mite lead us to Evans parents-- Anna Halterman, Murphysboro, Il

Hi all...
I am new to this usergroup and am seeking Elizabeth J. York. She is doing research regarding the Cleveland family and ran across my website. She left a message in my guestbook, but left only part of her email address. My website is a genealogy of the Thomas Grant of Tennessee. As it turns out, Elizabeth's husband is a ggrandson of Richard G. Grant, son of Thomas Grant and brother of my ggrandfather, James Davis Grant. I am not sure of the connection between the Grants and Clevelands and Yorks, but there must be one down the line.
If anyone in the group knows of her or this line, please let me know. Thanks....
Allen Grant
