Hi----- Just read your e-mail about the Clevelands--
I have been for a long time trying to find out about Evan cleveland-- born
in Tn in 1812-- don't know who his parents were or any of his siblings-- any
how he ended up in Ill and married a Nancy Jordan in 1830 in williamson
county, Ill-- no r ecord as the courthouse burned and no records until 1836-- could
maybe he be of any relation to your cleveland?-- I even have some information
that Evan was kidnapped by the Indians and left them in Tn when he was 18 and
went to Ky and then on up to Ill.-- No doubt his family was in Ill, but we
have no record who they were.
Any information that you may have would be a big help.-- thanks Anna

Do you know about the "Cleveland Family Chronicles" on the Internet at
http://www.angelfire.com/il/ClevelandFamilyChron/index.html
My line of Clevelands came from the Pendleton District of South Carolina. I
have a William Earles Cleveland b. 05 Feb 1827 at Tugaloo, Cleveland's
Ferry South Carolina d. abt. 1895 in Denton, Texas. This may be a different
one from yours because I have his wife listed as Matilda L. Anderson and he
was a different generation from your Willliam Earvel Cleveland but yours may
have been a descendant of mine. I'm sorry that I don't have later
generations in my file, but possibly the Cleveland Chronicles will have
more or you could leave an inquiry at the site for others to see and
possibly get an answer. If you find that you descend from this William
Earles Cleveland I'd sure appreciate you letting me know so I can add more
of his family history to my file. Good luck and I hope you find your
answers.
In case this would help you search, this is what I have on this family:
The one I have listed was s/o George Alexander Columbus Cleveland and Nancy
Cleveland (they were cousins). I descend from a sister of Nancy Cleveland,
Elizabeth Caroline Cleveland. Nancy was d/o William Cleveland and Nancy Ann
Harrison. George Alexander Columbus Cleveland was s/o Neal (Neely)
Cleveland and Jane Cornell.
I have 4 children listed for My William Earles Cleveland:
Nancy Elizabeth b. 1850
James A. b. 1852
George Washington b. 1854
Walter b. 1856.
I'm sure sorry but this is all I have on this family.
Nell

Subject: William Earvel Cleveland (1877-1971)
From the South Carolina line - seeking parents and siblings of:
Rev. William Earvel Cleveland
Born 20 Oct 1877 in Texas (possibly Fort Worth)
Father from South Carolina, mother from Georgia (according to 1920
census)
Married Ruth Alice Cotton born 1883 in Tennessee
Had only one child, Margaret Ruth Cleveland born 1915 in San Antonio
Died 27 Apr 1971 in Costa Mesa, Orange, California
William had at least one sibling, a sister who died young after having two
daughters in Tennessee. The girls were orphaned, so William and Ruth
raised them in San Antonio. Their names were Myrtle and Roberta E Patmon.
Myrtle married Brian Richardson and Roberta married Louis J Carter.
Thank you,
