Dave,
My book is on mircro flim. There are three rolls and I payed $27.00 a roll by
ordering from the National Archives, Washington, DC. This was about ten years
ago and at that time there was no plans for a reprint and the way I
understood it was due to its size and that there had never been a reprint. I may be
wrong but if some are appearing on the market, they probably are surfacing from
descendants of the original buyers.
My Barnard FRANKLIN m: Mary CLEVELAND in VA; They and some of the sons moved
to Wilkes (later Surrey County, NC) before 1885. She died there 1805, him
before 1828. My ancestor is their son Abner FRANKLIN who m: Marys niece, allegedly
Rhoda CLEVELAND. Abner was in Franklin County, GA by 1885, in Dallas County,
AL by 1808, died there in 1825. It is believed that Rhoda was the daughter of
Marys brother Larkin Cleveland. I haven't found a marriage record yet. There
is a lot more written about Marys brother, Benjamin Cleveland than the other
two brothers.
I hope that I can make at least a couple of more research trips before my
driving skills begin to go down hill. There is no thrill like walking on the
ground your ancestors walked on; reading the old courthouse record; buying a copy
of the original map that lists not only your ancestor, but finding colateral
lines also. Sorry I got carried away, Johnnye
Dave
I also got mine at Higginson in Salem, MA. I recall it was around $200.
There are originals floating around in places like the Minnesota
Historical Society but I do not know if there are any for sale.
Be aware there are mistakes. My great grandmother Anna Turner was listed
as from Virginia with a father having a rank of Colonel. She was really
a daughter of a dirt farmer in Indiana just across the county from the
Cleveland she married. oh well.... Makes the stories more interesting
when you find out the real story.

I bought a copy a few years ago. It was a reprint, copied and bound by
Higginson Book Company. At the time, they were located at 148 Washington
Street, PO Box 778, Salem, Mass. 01970, phone 978/745-7170, fax
978/745-8025.
I do not recall the price of this reprint of the 3 volume set, but I am
very happy to have a copy.

If you are referring to the CLEVELAND/CLEAVELAND BOOK published in 1899, if
you will send me your decent from Evan CLEVELAND, approximate date of birth,
TN, county, the census year that you have and the first name, (maiden name if
known) of the wife. It is possible that if he was born before 1890 that I would
be able to link him to a family line, including collateral lines. What were
Evan's children's names? That is another clue to link a person to unknown
parents or grandparents.
With so many counties and societies on rootsweb in many states, you can
research many things on line. Have you tried that? If you do your homework and send
me the info I asked for, I will be more than happy to help you. I am a
seventy year old grandmother that still works part time and has several grand
children, so it wouldn't be in a days time. So many people have helped me since I
began in 1986, that I feel good when I can help someone.
When you give me the census year I will pull him up to get the neighbors info
for the clues that will give me. Johnnye
Got your information on my e-mail, but I wasn't able to open it-- where
can I find it-- as I am interested in finding about Evan Clevelands siblings and
parents-- do you have any information regarding him-- according to the census
he was born in Tn, but no one knows where or who is parents were or
siblings.-- would appreciate any information that you have.== Anna Halterman
