Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Ok folks! As you all know, I do not hold to posting virus information on
Rootsweb lists and Rootsweb does not condone it either, BUT, this is getting
out of hand! There is a hoax going around that warns you to delete a file
from your computer because it is a virus and will go off on June 1st or
whatever date. This is simply crap! That file that they want you to delete
is a normal file on your computer that allows your computer to use extra
long file names. If you delete it, that function will not operate on your
computer. YOU NEED THIS FILE! Do not pay any attention to it. If you are
sent this junk, simply delete it. The only reason I am posting this is
because I've had so many inquiries about it that it is easier to post to all
instead of explain it 1,000 times. The file that they want you to delete
is: SULFNBK.EXE As I said, do not delete it, delete the message and
forget it, it's a hoax!
