All I know of Effie Whited is that she was my grandmother's sister. Effie's father being Jim (James) Whited. They were raised on Clinch Mountain in Va. Grandma we believe, had a different father. Their siblings are Mary, Hattie, Rosie, Maggie, Vivian, Garnet, Claude and Earl. As far as I know Willa Mae (grandma) was the only step child of Jim. But I could be wrong.( She went by the last name Whited) Have been searching for sometime on this branch of the Whited's. Willa was born 1895, Belfast Va. died 1985 in Ohio. She married John M Martin in 1909, moved to Oh 1917 to 1921.
FYI> There is another Effie but her father is different and birth date wouldn't fit this family.
Her mother may have been a Cox, or Dye. Sarah, Alice or Lillian. Those are the names we have been getting from some of the older relatives. Willa's father may have been a Hagy.

I have been reading the messages posted here, and thought I would add our two cents worth. My husband, Kermit Edwin Yargus is a great, great, great grandson of Peter I from Germany. He and Louis Clester are third cousins--Louis and Kermit's Great-Grandfathers were brothers.
Kermit will be 87 this year,so we are really trying to get a lot more Clester information as he enjoys learning about his ancestors, and sometimes, we have found a person that he recalls his mama talking about. ( His mother was Ola Myrtle Clester.) He has a LOT of stories about family members.
We have a website on MyFamily.com called Yargus Footprints, and we have more Clester info than Yargus! A lot of old pictures, etc. I would be happy to send you an invite if you would be interested in taking a peek.
I will try to give you any info that I have, too.
Angi Yargus

The info I received about Effie Whited came from Leo LaMatry
so you might want to check with him but he believed she may have been the second wife of my great grandfather Joseph Halley Clester. Does this match up with any info you may have? Do you have any names for any of Effie's children?

Do you have any information about Effie Whited? My grandmother's sister was Effie Whited. She would have been born late 1890's or early 1900's.
Thanks, Phyllis
