I don't know anything about Minerva other than she is buried next to Hark in the Bethel Cemetary and what I told you. Do you want the picture? The origanal was at a cousins house just out of Scotts Hill, Tn. that burned unfortunatly all of the pictures went with the fire, I am just happy I had copied the ones that interested me just wish I had paid more attention.

Lori, thank you for the information. I am trying to either connect or not, Minerva GATHINGS, to the family of John GATHINGS of Anson Co. NC, Perry Co. TN, and Decatur Co. TN.
I believe that Minerva GATHINGS Clenney was in District 1, Decatur Co. TN on 1880 census along with her sister. Surname was spelled GETHING. Their mother was Margary UNKNOWN Gathings, believed wife of John GATHINGS.
Thank you again, I will add the family lore about their marriage to my files. Linda, So. CA

"I have a copy of a picture I was told was of Minerva Gathings. My husbands ancesters were Hark Clenney and Susanah Austin Clenney.
Some where I read that Hark and Minerva Gathings were neighbors and were walking across a field going home from a church meeting and Hark said something to the effect that since they were both alone and lonly why didn't they marry."
