I think your David Clennan was born as David Cullinane in Ballymacoda, Ireland, the son of James and Ellen Cullinane. Ellen and all of her children moved to Kane County, Illinois, where the name was spelled Clinnin. David's siblings were named Mary, John, Catherine, Ellen, and James. David married Mary Martin in Kane County, Illinois on Sept. 23, 1851. Their first child was born in Illinois. Their second child was born in Minnesota. The third child was born in Wisconsin.
David's sister, Catherine, was my husband's great, great grandmother.
