Hi:)My Direct Clendinnen Line that went to Australia , Via my ggrandfather Samuel Alfred Clendinnen, descends via John Clendinnen Born circa 1770 Co Down...His parents have yet to be found with Proof or Documentation....Tho his parents were Apparently PresbyterianJohn Clendinnen travelled all over Ireland as a Wesleyan minister, Retired in Bideford Devon where he died in 1855
Now the Confusion over the Glendinning Family of quaterland Co Down
1..William Glendinning Born 16 May/1680 in Staplegorton Scotland Son of William glendinning and Margaret Children...James, John, Charles, Andrew Wife Thought to be but no Proof...Rose ann Kirkpatrick Its these children, James, john, Charles, Born dumfriess That went to states
Those that Sent Dna in Connect to these lot....Our Clendinnen Lot from Australia and England who sent in Dna Do not Connect to that lot, but we think to the followingAnd the Above William Glendinning was CatholicThis is our lotWilliam Glendinning...Son of John Glendinning and Maria Gordon, Born 1673 Borgue Kirkcudbright He went to Quarterland in Down And Married Rose Fisher in 1713 in Killyleagh and had like 9 children ...this William was PresbyterianOur John was descended from one of themPatrick Bird a Clendinnen researcher , went to Ireland and found the Marriage of William Glendinning and Rose Fisher in killyleagh, plus baptism of children
theres several ancestry trees that people have copied re this lot, that got the 2 William Glendinnings Mixed up...and GTC the Author of the Book *House of glendonwyn* Did not leave Australia to carry out the research, but commissioned someone in Scotland to do research, so there is some info in his book that is speculation
There has Also been no marriage as yet found of the Marriage of Rose ann Kirkpatrick and William glendinning in Scotland
Would be interested in others feedback re thisThanksregardsCathy:)
