[CLENDINEN] post a message
by Barbara Botwinick - FDARMS
I am hoping someone can help me. I am trying to help a good friend of mine track down his ancestry. His name is Chris Edward Clendening II, and he hails from Colorado, (in the U .S.), although he presently lives in NYC. His father (Chris Edward) comes from Colorado as well, and so does his paternal grandfather (Cecil Edward), but his grandfather also lived in several other states, including Kansas, Texas and possibly New Mexico among others.
I have begun to reach out to a number of Clendenings trying to help him since I have a lot more free time than he has. I also know there are spelling variables of the last name, such as Clendenning, and Glendening and Glendining, just to name a scant few. It seems there is not much information to go on as far as tracking down his possible relatives. I do have some additional information that I would be happy to share with you if there might be a family connection and you would like to know more. I will pass along any information that pans out to Eddie.
Eddie, as he is called, told me that his family's roots are from Ireland and Scotland but he does not know much more, and I have sort of run out of ideas, so I am contacting people from ancestry.com's information to see if anyone knows anything with regard to whether any specific Clendenings (spelling is variable, of course) migrated to Colorado and the Midwest U.S. from their homelands and anything related to that. Also trying to learn his roots from Ireland and Scotland if possible.
If anyone has some information about the Clendenings, I would love to hear from you. You can reach me at 800-789-0123 ext. 142 during the day Monday-Thursdays, and any other day, or evenings at 516-873-0480 (my home number). If you are planning on calling, I actually prefer being called at home because then there are no interruptions. If you prefer, you can email me at barbara(a)fdarms.com<mailto:barbara@fdarms.com>. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully finding something of value out.
Thanks to anyone who can offer any help.
