Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
We just found out the other day when we got the following email from
nickm(a)familytreedna.com. His email was looking for someone to take over
as the Volunteer administrator. He obviously was off on the dates.
Dear Clendenin Project Members,
The volunteer administrator for this surname project, Sharon Bryant, has
sadly passed away over Labor Day weekend. This leaves an opening for any
member of the group to volunteer to take over in her place and organize
Family Tree DNA's research into the history of the Clendenin surname. If
any of you would like to step forward to take the reins for the project,
just contact me and I will be happy to provide information about the
privileges and expectations of a volunteer surname project manager.

Thank you, Alan. I was not aware Sharon had passed away. I had
corresponded
with Sharon many times on the Clendenin lines beginning in 1997. She
gave so
much to the genealogy community and will be sadly missed.

You know information posted in someones family tree be it correct or not is their information and not for you or anyone else to tell them to correct it. Unless you lived at that place at that time you , me or anyone else does not know what is correct or not. I say if it's wrong so be it, if it's correct so be it, doesn't matter especially if it causes someone to get angry. I never get angry if some one has something in my tree posted on their tree incorrectly, it's not my tree it's theirs. I worry about my tree and my tree only because that is the one I am passing to my children and grand children and that's the only one that matters. Don't be a Genealogy Snob, share and move on.....
