Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
We visited Orange county a few years ago. Make time for going to Raleigh to
the state archives (we didn't), but I think you'll find more there. Library
(nice people) has tiny room with little in it of help. Courthouse annex had
some documents.

Jim, I don't look at Clendenins in Orange Co. NC. But I do look at
other surnames in the area. And by chance that area is a huge
interest to me right now in my genealogy. I am interested in the time
period just before the Revolution until the early 1800's. Now, by
funny coincidence I just attended a Literary seminar at Key West on
historical fiction and the search for truth. In the process of
preparing for the seminar I bought and read historical fiction "like
crazy" since I signed up for the event last spring. One of the books
that I bought is Jimmy Carter's Hornet's Nest which I have only
recently started and have read only about 45 pages. However, it is an
easy read--almost like a children's book for adults. And it really
explains in easily remembered ways what was going on in the time frame
that is of interest to me. And the character is just moving to Orange
County, NC and learning about the Regulators. If you are a very
knowledgeable researcher and have already done big time research on
this subject the book might be a bit simple for you. But if you are
looking for a quick and easy read that helps you understand what is
going on in that time frame, I recommend it.
