Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
You might be able to find something at this website.

If you feel that you are not getting all the mailing list mail, you can check the appropriate archives listing below to determine if you have missed any.
One thing that may have passed by you when you read a message I posted on 16 Aug was that you can no longer be subscribed to both the individual list messages and the digest messages from the same email account. If you were subscribed to both you have most likely been switched to only a digest format.
If what you are receiving is not what you want contact me off the list, giving me your email address, telling me whether you want the list or the digest and if you want to scroll through the individual messages as they are compiled or if you wish to have a listing of the subject matter in the digest which you can then pick and choose from.
There is a massive switching of servers going on at Rootsweb and there may be some issues to be addressed. Please let me know.

If no one can get to it before next Thursday, I will look up the census
records on Joseph Clendenning when I go into the FHC Library. All of Ancestry is
free there.
Cathy
I can take a look at it now. Will report back.

Hi all:
Since there seems to be some activity on this mail list I will asK:
Does anyone have any information on a Joseph Clendenning who was living in Montreal, Quebec, Canada?
I would guess his age to be:
Born in the 1850's time frame. Died in Montreal in 1914. Buried in Maxville, Ontario.
One son: John Robert Clendenning
b. 1898 Montreal, Canada
Joseph's wife was Agnes Mark.
I can find nothing on this couple or their son John Clendenning. I believe John died in 1935 in Montreal.
Any advice or direction will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Joyce

I want everyone to understand that my previous email response to "Sandy in
Florida" was not an indictment of her Gedcom to be found on WorldConnect.
The Internet and the resources to be found there are wonderful things. I use
it all the time. I try to be careful to include in my database the URL from
which I downloaded information. If the information has come to me via an
email, I make note of the date and sender of the email. If they give me a
citation I note that as well.
I do not, however, post gedcoms to WorldConnect and hesitate to post
anything from my database to a website, personal or family-oriented.
I used to have gedcoms posted to WorldConnect. I removed them all when I
realized that some of my information had been incorporated into gedcoms
which included erroneous information from unknown sources.
The problem is this, folks: When someone else reads your gedcom, they will
sometimes pick up the whole thing and incorporate it into a gedcom which
they then post and which may include bad information.
A lot of people who are just starting their genealogy research will google
to see what they can find. If you have posted erroneous information or
information which has been proven to be incorrect and you do not correct
your information on the Internet, the errors are compounded.
All I'm asking is that you check what you uploaded to the Internet and make
any appropriate corrections. Hey, I might find your information and decide
to use it too. :>)
I'm getting wet here but still have power, obviously, and didn't have to go
anywhere until later today anyway. As our ancestors said "keep your powder
dry."
