The information that I posted on the website regarding the descendants of John and Anne Mott Glendening indicated that two of their daughters had married Armstrong men -- Elizabeth m Joseph Armstrong and Elinor m John Armstrong.
Well, sometimes it takes my brain a while before the right cogs line up.
Charles Clendenin, son of William Clendenin of NC married Frances Armstrong, d/o Joseph and Frances Armstrong on 15 Sep 1827, Orange Co., NC.
Is there any connection between these Armstrong families?

Would all of you who believe you're descended from this couple please contact me privately?
I have an individual who believes she is descended from this couple and who apparently has testable male relatives.
Thanks,
Sharon
Hello all,
I've no luck looking for info on my g-g-grandmother, Viola L Clendening,
believed to have been born abt 1820 or so in Sumner Co TN.
We believe her to have been daughter of Anthony Bledsoe Clendening and
Margaret (surname unknown).
Viola married Jonas Dudley Smith. She died abt 1875 in Arkansas, possibly
in or near Conway County.
I've not found any official record of Viola though my mom (her
g-granddaughter) heard lots of family stories about her.
We believe Viola's dad, A. B. Clendening, was the son of James Clendening,
possibly born in Ohio.
Any leads would be appreciated.
Thanks much,
Keith Stell Harris
