Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thought I would pass this along.

I live in south Georgia and just returned from a family vacation in North Carolina. On the way home, we stopped by historic Brattonsville in York County, South Carolina. This is part of the film "The Patriot" (starring Mel Gibson) was filmed. One of my ancestors.......a Thomas Clendinen.......lived near the farm of Colonel Bratton and was a Revolutionary War soldier. He is buried nearby in the churchyard of Bethesda Presbyterian Church (whose cemetery markers have been written out and are available on the web). Thomas' grandson James Augustus Clendinen left York County and eventually settled in Abbeville, Alabama. He married Rosa Jane White of Milledgeville, GA (the daughter of Benjamin Aspinwall White and the grandson of Revolutionary war Colonel Edward White, of Brookline, Mass and later of Savannah, GA....after the War).
As far as I am aware, the York, County line of Clendinens is a rather short one. It extends through James Augustus who migrated to Alabama and to current members of the Clendinen family, most of whom now live in Florida.
