Does anyone have info on this Gwinn family? Or spouses for the kids? I found
Pauline in the 1850 Greenbrier, and I think Augustus in the 1850 Monroe.
However that Augustus age 29 lives next door to James 66 and Mary 64. Is he
the James Jr who is said to be the first white child born in Monroe after the
Clendenin Massacre? [morton page 349]
There is also a Joseph Jr. though the 1850 book has Sr. he is only 25,
married to an Elizabeth age 25. He fits right in between Augustus 1821 and
Pauline 1827.
In the Morton book for Monroe Co these are the children listed for Joseph s/o
James
Sylvester m Elizabeth Williams
James m Virginia Johnson
Joseph m Elizabeth Taylor
Augustus m Elizabeth callaway
Nancy m James [sic, it is John] meadows
Martha m James graham
Miriam m Jeremiah stevens
Sarah m Sam Gwinn
billescent m simeon? Hoffman 1845
Mary m George Keller 1843
paulina m Levi jarrett 1847
Thanks for writing.
