Dear Listers,
I just went onto to the Clendinen website and found this listing of
Clendenin marriages in Wayne Co., IN. Was wondering who submitted
them? I belive this is the family of Huston Clendenin (1823-1891) son
of Samuel Clendenin and Cynthia Vasa from Warren Co., OH. Looks like
Elizabeth Clendenin could be Elizabeth Ann Thompson Clendenin, widow of
Huston who died 25 May 1891 in Hagerstown, Wayne Co., IN. They had sons
William S. and Samuel and daughters, Malissa and Rebecca Inez Clendenin
Harmon. Would love to exchange info. Mary Louise Townsend

Dear Cheryl and Wonderful List Subscribers,
Cynthia Margaret Clendenin (1834-1921) and my gg grandfather, John
Clendenin (1817-1849) were brother and sister and they, as well as their
13 other siblings, were born at Twenty Mile Stand, Deerfield Twp.,
Warren Co., OH. Their parents were Samuel Clendenin (b. PA, 1791-d.
OH, 1867) and Cynthia Vasa (1797-1864). I have lots on this Clendenin
family originally from Cumberland Co., PA and Scotland and the 15
children of Samuel/Cynthia Clendenin. Also, I know of two direct
descendents of Cynthia M./Levi Scott line. One is Donald P. Carter in
CO and the other is JT Talbot, stationed in Korea. I have copies of IL
death certificates for Cynthia Margaret/Levi Scott and even a picture of
Cynthia M. C. Scott.
I'm still looking for some ELUSIVE CLENDENINs of this family. Anyone
know of these families?

a.. Recently on Rootsweb World Connect a poster suggested that my Isabella Clendenin b.1755 was the daughter of William b.1714 in Nr. Dumfries, Scotland and Eleanor (Elliot) CLENDENIN married 3/27/1850 in Old Swede's Church Wilmington New Castle DE.
Eleanor's father being William ELLIOT b.1704 only 10 years before her husband.
The poster doesn't show any personal connection to this line, other children and was unable to provide any sources. Therefore, does
anyone in the group have information on this William Clendenin and his marriage or children. I may have seen the marriage record
somewhere but what about descendents? Actually it seems unlikely because the Hitchcocks followed a naming pattern and if Isabella
Unknown HITCHCOCK had been the child of William and Eleanor both those names would have been given to children and perhaps grandchildren and they were not. However a good researcher must investigate all leads.
Any Help appreciated.

Today I saw an obit in the Charleston Gazette (Charleston, WV) for those
who might be interested.
