Mable,
This was never widely circulated. I only know of a copy in the Library of
Congress.
HOWEVER, and that's a big however, it is NOT accurate. Several of us are
trying to verify the information in it and are finding there are distinct
problems with the material there.

Mary Louise,
These were downloaded from the FamilyTreeMaker records on-line. Just part of
what I have been doing to put primary records online that pertain to the
Clendenin name.

Hello Everyone!
My name is Cheryl Ellis and I live in Howell, Michigan.
I have a couple of Clendinens in my family and was hoping someone out there might have more info to share.
This is all that I have:
My Great-Great Grandmother
Cynthia Margaret Clendinen
B: August 30, 1837 in Mason, Ohio
D: April 12, 1921
M: May 10, 1859 in Warren, Ohio to Levi English Scott
My GGG Grandfather
Samuel Clendinen
M: Margaret Vassey
I just joined the Clendinen mailing list so I hope to hear from some of you soon...
Cheryl
The local Point Pleasant Register Obituaries contained the following:
RAVENSWOOD - Mary Joan Clendenin, 77, of Ravenswood, died Wednesday, January
3, 2001 in Ripley. Born December 20, 1923, in New Haven, she was a daughter
of the late Joseph and Mina (Grimms) Jewell. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Frank James Clendenin of Gallipolis, Ohio, to whom she was
married on November 28, 1946...
A living son and grandchildren are also listed. Does anyone have information
on Frank James Clendenin? Jim
This is not a normal genealogy notice, but I would like to get the word out
to as many as posable about the problems with new Netscape 6 for anyone who
is using a Macintosh computer as I am.
I am using a Macintosh G3 and the current 9.04 Operating System. When I
loaded Netscape 6 from its CD per the instructions the whole world came
apart. It was almost like a virus. The machine would no longer boot, I lost
all my Bookmarks, and my printer drive/server was wiped out.
Even worse there is no technical support unless one wanted to pay $29 for it.
So now I have spent the last two day cleaning up my machine and getting
Netscape 6 out of it.

This is not directed at John; a subject line that references only a
digest-mode article is not particularly useful to readers. Please change the
subject line to reflect the true subject of your post.

I was born in NW Ohio, traced back to So. of Rochester, NY, back to
Markham, Ontario, back to (maybe NJ?) and then maybe (New Hampshire)?
We're still digging and can't find that last link here in the U.S.
before. So far, can't find a link to the lines most are grabbing hold
of. I think there will be lots of changes, once our heredity is proven.

Bud,
Glad to share, but I do not think there is any close connection. My
Clendenons were all Quakers and they migrated to Ohio from Pennsylvania, North
Carolina, and Georgia very early. Quakers generally married other Quakers
from the same area. I've not found any of my own family in Tennessee.
Lawrence
I'm reading these messages with a great deal of interest and I wanted to let
you know that there is a national database getting started (it's a year old)
called Migrations. http://www.migrations.org Go take a look and if you're
comfortable with the information about your family that they ask for, submit
your data. I did a query on Clendenin and came up blank. Simply means that
no one has entered that information into the database.
At any rate, check it out. Something else I do in my spare time.

Sandy,
You asked about more spouses? It looks like you pretty much have them all.
Are you looking for the parents of the spouses or exactly what?
