I've returned to the Clendenin list even though I'm not a Clendenin descendant. I'm interested in the father-in-law of Henry Simpson Clendenin, John LACY, who was born in 1791 in (Laurens?) SC and died about 1833 in Randolph County, IL. His daughter Caroline LACY married (first husband) Henry Simpson (some spell it Sympson) Clenden and bore him five children: Robert E., Charles H. Julia, Martha and Anna. After Henry Clendenin died, she married James Scott McDill and bore him two children: Juhn Luther McDill and Rebecca Jane McDill.
I wonder if any Clendenin researcher might verify that John LACY was in fact born in Laurens, SC, and if anybody knows who were his parents?
