Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Don Clendenin called me this afternoon. He wants everyone to know that while he knows there are email messages in his in-box he can't get to them to answer them.
HIs location is still under iced conditions from the ice storm about 10-11 days ago. They're okay and his wife has been able to get away from the house in a 4-wheel drive but he's email-less.
He'll get to it as soon as the ice goes away.

Hello folks,
We have always been able to order mtDNA kits but they were never considered part of the Surname project until today.
They will now be a part of the Clendenin surname project and I will be displaying the results and the participants' lineage on the website.
The cost for mtDNA plus (region 1 & 2) is the same as the 37 marker test for the men. You still go to the same location to order the kits.
If your mother was a Clendenin (any of the variant spellings) or her mother was, or her mother's mother was, etc., you can test your mtDNA through our project.
Women pass their mtDNA to both their sons and their daughters but only the women can pass it along.
If you are unsure if your line of descent qualifies please contact me BEFORE ordering the kit.
Thanks,
Sharon
