Subject: mtDNA testing
Hello,
Was your mother or her mother or her mother a Clendenin (regardless of how you spell it)?
If so I am now willing to open the Clendenin DNA project to mitochondrial testing (mtDNA).
Either men or women who have a maternal line back to a Clendenin female may take this test. mtDNA is passed from mother to both sons and daughters, but only the daughters pass it on to their own children.
The test you want to order is the mtDNA refine test which tests two regions -- HVR1 and HVR2.
If you have any questions please let me know before ordering any tests.
Thanks,
Sharon

How low will we go? Check out Yahoo! Messengers low PC-to-Phone call rates.
Perhaps an example would help (these are all fictitious names)
4th gr g mo female Clendenin m Joe Brown
3rd gr g mo female Brown (d/o above) m Jack Smith
2nd gr g mo female Smith (d/o above) m John Magillicuddy
gr g mo female Magillicuddy (d/o above) m Eleazor Jones
g mo female Jones (d/o above) m Steve Bronson
mother - female Bronson (d/o above m Larry Johnson
you (male or female)
Of course the Clendenin doesn't have to go back that far. But it must be on the mother's line, i.e., mother, her mother, her mother, etc.

Anyone out there interested in this gentleman and some of his descendants?
If yes, I can put you in touch with a lady who is a descendant.
Let me know.
