Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I wanted to ask each of you to do three things:
1. Give money to your favorite disaster relief fund.
2. Be willing to share genealogy information if you receive a request, in the next few months, that says "my house was underwater; I lost all my genealogy files. Can you help me rebuild my database?"
3. Pray!
Thank you and God bless you,
Sharon
I found this in a message to another mailing list that I monitor regularly.
"...a Macdonald of Sleat from Skye descended from Somerled through Hugh of Sleat. The gaelic name of that branch is Uisdein often anglicized Houston but sometimes
Hudson."
Just thought I would pass that along for our Clendenin-Huston/Houston descendants.

I recently purchased a book entitled "Scotch Irish Pioneers in Ulster and
America" by Charles Knowles Bolton. It was originally published in Boston
in 1910. In one of the chapters, it details the settlement of Nutfield.
The settlement was made under the impression that the lands were in
Massachusetts but in May 1719, the General Court decided that New Hampshire
had jurisdiction over them. Nutfield was incorporated as the town of
Londonderry in June 1722.
It is reported by Rev. E.L. Parker that sixteen men with their families
first settled on the "common field" about the mouth of West-running Brook.
One of the sixteen was Archibald Clendenin. It lists the following
information:
Archibald Clendenin, and Miriam his wife. Their children are given in the
birth records as early as 1720.
Does anyone know which this Archibald Clendenin is?
In the 1880 census, Rockcastle Co., KY there is an Alexander Clendenin, 29, born VA, parents both born in NC, wife, Susan E., b TN, both parents born TN. A 4-year old female possibly named Florry or Flossy.
Who is this?

Hi,
Need your help. Does anyone know anything at all about a Charles Clendinen, b c 1756 in Augusta Co., VA. Supposedly married to an Elizabeth Loyd, daughter of Ephraim and Sarah Loyd, b 1791 in NC.
Said to have had a son, Charles who was adopted by a John Drew. These families were in the Clay/Rockcastle Co., KY area.
Thanks
Sharon
