A Phillip Clendaniel wrote to me, asking if I knew if the Clendaniel name was
ever spelled "Glendaniel."
I have somehow lost his E-mail address. If he would re-contact me, I will
answer his query.
My great-great-grandparents' tombstones say "Glendaniel." I don't know if
this was an error on the part of the carver, or whether the lettering has
weathered so that the "C" now looks like a "G". (These tombstones were for
Samples Clendaniel and Elizabeth Fitzsimmons Clendaniel.)
Some of the variations I have found are:
Clendanels
Condannels
Candannel
Etc.
