Sonya, Here is a website that gives all the historians in Oswego County just
in case you care to write any of them. I've talked to the one in Williamstown
but they didn't have anything on Samuel as he died in Redfield TWP.

Hi, My great grandfather, Samuel was married to Martha Rathbun. He died in
1867. They had a son, Samuel who married Julia Castor. This Samuel died in
1880. They had a son named Albert and I don't know his death date. He was in
the service and is buried in the Greenboro Cemetery.
I was in upstate New York and went to the Redfield celebration of their 200th
year. Half-shire Historical Society was very helpful in many things but to
date I still don't know how to connect Albert and Melvina. My great
grandfather Samuel & Martha had a daughter Melvina but she was married to
William Woodhouse.
I'm going to look up some more info and get back to you. Thanks for writing.
Luella Clemons Long
Hi; Luella;Don't know when you planned on returning from NY but I just
remembered that the reason our tree is so fowled up is because my
g-grandfather & g-grandmother
were first cousins or were they really brother and sister?????I can't
tell you dates of my Albert's death until my Aunt returns but it was
Oswego Co. and I think Jan.12,1941. I also found a scrap of paper on
which I'd written that Samuel Clemons died in Oswego Co.,too.So,I left a
message for my cousin Linda in New Haven NY to call me back with the
address of vital records in Oswego and maybe I can put this to rest for
the moment by writing a letter for the obits or death certif. My sister
is in NY but I think she'll be gone before business hours on Monday.I
sure hope you've been able to find something out. Thanks,Sonya

Good Morning;
So pleased to receive your note, I have a sister named "Lucinda
Clemons",she's always gone by L.Sue and lives in Phila,Pa. We're from
Upstate,NY,still researching,believed all these years to be Dutch,with a
Vermont connection and I think Charles, too. My Aunt has Luella Long's
line in Ohio with her but will return in October, she's 82 and the only
one with good memory and family Bible, the computer is helping me come
along. The two Charles Clemons in Amsterdam,NY around 1887-1889 were
carpenters,father & son,I think,stay in touch,we may very well be "
cousins."My g-grandfather was Albert Clemons, but there are more than
one. Sonya Clemons-Baird

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any information on this couple or their family.
Nathaniel Obadiah Bunker was born around Dec.1804 in Waterbury, Chittenden,
VT. He married Lucinda Clemons (birthplace unknown) abt. 1832 in Newton
Junction, Rockingham, NH.
They had at least three children: Cordelia, Daniel Dominion (married Veldora
Amanda Whitcher), Caroline Victoria (Hyram Hoyt Clemons) and possibly a
Lucinda.
Before December 1838, they moved to Bolton, Quebec, Canada. This family must
have stayed in the Bolton area for sometime, because my g-grandfather Charles
(Caroline's son) was also born in Bolton. Family history says that the
Clemons' were definitely French Canadian and that the Bunker's where
Hollander Dutch.
Also, can anyone tell me what the attraction was in Vermont and New Hampshire
between the years of 1804 and 1842. Caroline's father was born around 1804
in Vermont, married 1832 in New Hampshire and Caroline's husband (Hiram) was
born in Barre, Vermont around 1842. What type of work was available in the
Chittenden and Washington Co. areas around this time span? I think that I
had heard that there were large rock quarries????
Any information would be appreciated!
