Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

FOREST CITY - Denise Blanton Clemmer, 51, of East Main Street, died Sept. 7, 2011, in Haiti while on a mission trip with Florence Baptist Church.
Born in Catawba County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Bob and Shirley Kitchen Blanton of Forest City. Denise was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, Class of 1978, a 1982 graduate of the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and worked for the Rutherford County De-partment of Social Services as a Child Protection Supervisor. She was a former member of the Rutherford County Pilot Club, a member of the Lunch Buddies for at At Risk Children in Elementary Schools, a member of the Florence Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School , Children's Choir, GA's and as a Youth Leader. This was Denise's first foreign mission trip with her church.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Bryce Clemmer of Forest City; a sister, Renee Blanton Washington and her husband, Bill, of Salisbury; a brother, Scott Blanton of Forest City; her mother-in-law, Mary Ann Clemmer of Gastonia; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Clemmer of Syracuse, New York and Stan Hope Clemmer of Gastonia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Florence Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bobby Gantt and the Rev. David Blanton officiating.
Burial will be in the Cleveland Memorial Park in Boiling Springs.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. in the Sanctuary of the Florence Baptist Church.

Ray Clemmer
DALLAS - James Ray Clemmer, 86, died Aug. 31, 2011, at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain.
He was born March 16, 1925, in Gaston County to the late Rupert and Jessie White Clemmer.
Ray was a member of Antioch Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dallas and was awarded a life membership in the North Carolina Lutheran Men in Mission. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and also in the United States Army during the Korea War.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna C. Carpenter and husband Richard J. Carpenter of Dallas; brother, Bob Clemmer of Dallas; granddaughter, Holly Chapman and husband Mike of Casar; three great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Thornburg Clemmer; brothers, Harry Clemmer, Sam Clemmer, Rupert L. "Dimp" Clemmer; sister, Mary Knox Clemmer.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Antioch Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dallas with Pastor George Rhyne officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church parish hall.
Interment will be at Antioch Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Dallas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Antioch Evangelical Lutheran Church, 330 Old NC 277 Loop Road, Dallas, NC 28034.

Ruby Clemmer
DALLAS - Ruby Jane Reel Clemmer, 80, passed away Aug. 31, 2011, at the Robin Johnson House, Dallas with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late Pink Joseph and Bertha Lee Carrigan Reel.
Mrs. Clemmer was a graduate of Dallas High School, former owner of Ruby's Beauty Shop, Dallas, former substitute teacher at Dallas High School and North Gaston High School, member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW, Absher-Flowers Post # 9337 and a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Dallas.
Mrs. Clemmer is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dan R. "Boonie" Clemmer, Sr.; one daughter, Sheila Robinette of Clover; one son, Dan R. Clemmer, Jr. and wife Donna of Dallas; two sisters, Betty Sides Watson of Dallas, Irene Frazier of Gastonia; two grandchildren, Christian Clemmer and wife Kara of Dallas, Dakota Gann of Clover; two great grandchildren, Daniel Jackson Clemmer, Riley Price Clemmer of Dallas.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 725 Gaston Technology Parkway, Dallas.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Saviour Lutheran Church with Pastor George Rhyne officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Hal White, Jeff White, David White, Rick Stroupe, Joe Clemmer, Jr., Doyle Clemmer, Jr.
Mrs. Clemmer was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Lewis, Eura, James, Larry and Junior Reel; two sisters, Ethel Canipe, Helen Stroupe.
