Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

CANTRELL, PATRICIA ANN - age 58, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, February 13, 2009 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she worked for many years in the children's department. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Marjorie Clemmer; brother, Christopher Clemmer. She is survived by her sons, Jason Cantrell and Ryan Cantrell; several cousins; special friends, Nancy McFall and Darlene Lane. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Pastor Fred Wade officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American National Kidney Foundation or to the American Heart Association. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 6915 Ruggles Ferry Pike.

Suzy Clemmer
DALLAS - Suzy Elizabeth Crawford Clemmer, 86, of Ashbrook Park Road,
died Feb. 22, 2009, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia.
She was born Feb. 24, 1922, in Gaston County, to the late David and
Sue Price Crawford.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Andrews
Episcopal Church, Bessemer City with Dereck Harbin officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sisk-Butler Funeral
Home, Bessemer City.
Interment will be at White Jenkins Family Cemetery.
Suzy was a lifelong member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Bessemer
City.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas "Sam" Clemmer, Suzan C. Rhyne
and husband L.A. of Ellenboro, Sally Daniel of Beaufort, S,C,, Mary
Ellis and husband Thomas of Kings Mountain; seven grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Star Clemmer;
sister, Eva Ballard; brothers, Grady Crawford, Chalmers Crawford and
David Crawford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Andrews Episcopal
Church, P.O. Box 611, Bessemer City, NC 28016.

Haynes, Edith
BESSEMER CITY - Edith Clemmer Haynes, 78, formerly of Bessemer City,
went to be with the Lord on Feb. 11, 2009, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Born in Gaston County on Dec. 13, 1930, she was the daughter of the
late Ralph and Bessie Truelove Clemmer.
Edith was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was
a homemaker, a business woman and one who loved the mountains and
beach. One of her favorite pastimes was fishing.
Survivors include daughters, Marie Elaine Haynes Byrd and husband
Ronald of Bessemer City, Sharon Claudette Haynes Layel and husband
Kenneth of Cherryville, Lora "Tina Haynes Reed and husband Jimmy of
Bessemer City; sons, William Robert Haynes and wife Gail of Belmont,
Ralph Edward Haynes and wife Sharon of Dallas; twelve grandchildren
and nine-teen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
William Haynes; sisters, Eva Garrison, Faye Robinson; brothers, Ronnie
Clemmer and Harlen Clemmer.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Carothers
Funeral Home, Gastonia and at other times at the residence of Sharon
and Kenneth Layel, 162 Buck Fraley Road, Cherryville, North Carolina.
A celebration of life service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the
Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park on South New Hope Road.
