I had a brief chance last summer to visit Pennsylvania and see my
greatgrandfather's former residence in Palm/Bally. He was David Geissinger
Clemmer, one of the brothers of your Rev.Samuel Clemmer. The house still
stands on Toll Gate Road and is the site of the old Clemmer Mill which was
supposedly built by David (not sure of that). After David's death, it
became known as the Funk Farm, passed on to James Funk who had married one
of David's daughters, Susanna Bechtel Clemmer. Now it is known as the Annie
Clemmer Funk home, daughter of James and Susanna. I'm sure you knew all of
that and more.
Found a very interesting book "Early Times in Hereford Township" which is
full of old pictures of families of the area (mostly 1930 and earlier).
There are several Clemmers pictured.
I bought a copy for $30 ( I think ) at the Perkiomen Library and Museum in
Pennsburg. My grandfather, Ephraim Bechtel Clemmer (brother of Susanna
above) was one of the first teachers at the Perkiomen School.
Hope you are well.
