Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Ruth Marie Clemmer, 92, Central Point, OR died April 25, 2004 at
Providence Hospital in Medford. She was born in Ellsworth, KS on Aug
27, 1911 to Bertha and Marius Andersen. She is preceded in death by
her parents, her son, Charles W. (Chuck) Clemmer; her sister Hazel
Barnett; her brother, Walter M. Andersen; a nephew, Jerry Barnett and
a great-granddaughter, Patricia J. Davis.
She attended schools in Emporia, KS where she met and married William
Allen Grant Clemmer on Nov 28, 1928, who preceded her in death on
March 25, 1972. She worked on the Clemmer family farm with him until
they moved in 1939 to Hanford, CA. She worked in the fruit cannery
and also picked grapes there and then the family settled in Oregon a
few years later and lived in Jacksonville until 1959. They then moved
to their Central Point farm where they raised locker beef.
Ruth was the mother of three children and a homemaker most of her
life. She is survived by two daughters, Eva M Berton of Medford,
Barbara J and Gene Hammersley of Reno, NV; daughter-in-law, Alieen
(Chuck) Clemmer of Mt. Angel; sister-in-law, Viola Andersen and a
nephew, Eddie Barnett of Emporia, KS and a niece Carol Hellen of
Oklahoma City, OK.
She was also blessed with nine grandchildren: Darcy and Mark Burns,
Richard and Lynda Hunsley, Billie and Chuck Taylor, Charleen and Dale
Worden, Rhonda Russell, and Sharon and Mike Hanscom all of Oregan;
Ellen and Mori Mann of California; Vickie and Mitch Humphrey and Anna
McCormick of Nevada,. Sharing her life were 18 great-grandchildren,
17 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was associated with Jehovah's Witnesses in Central Point. A
celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 30, 2004 in
the park at Sislyou and Highland in Medford.

GAYNELL S. CLEMMER
STANLEY - Gaynelle Steelman Clemmer, 81, of 514 Old NC 27, died May
27, 2004, at her residence. She was a native of Wilkes County,
daughter of the late John Samuel and Ethel McNeil Steelman.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11 a.m. Saturday, St. Paul's Lutheran Church
Cemetery, Hardin
VISITATION: After service in Activity Building of First United
Methodist Church, Stanley; other times at the home of Betty Hongisto,
426 Upper Spencer Mountain Road, Stanley Mrs. Clemmer was a 1939
graduate of Miller's Creek High School in Wilkesboro, where she was a
star basketball player. She was a former employee of J.P. Stevens in
Stanley, was formerly employed with the cafeteria staff at Stanley
High School, and was formerly employed by Jones Brothers Grocery Store
in Stanley. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in
Stanley.
SURVIVORS: Two sons, Randy Clemmer of Lincolnton, Jimmy Clemmer and
wife Renee of Stanley; 5 brothers, William C. Steelman of Fallston,
Johnny C. Steelman of Lincolnton, Frank Steelman of Hardin, Clyde
Steelman of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Gwyn Steelman of Dallas; 2
sisters, Betty Hongisto of Stanley, Faye S. Costner of Bessemer City;
a grandchild, Chad Clemmer; 2 step grandchildren, Jeff Blackwelder
and Amy Simmons; and 3 step great-grandchildren, Austyn Simmons,
Chase Blackwelder and Shanna Bartee

Clemmer of Milford, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 26. She was born in
Monroe County Thursday, March 10, 1921. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was 83. Preceded in death by: parents, Louis and Maude Isbill
Smith; brothers, Marvin Smith, Huber and L.D. Smith; and sister, Irene
Watson. Survivors include: sons-Rev. Luther Allen Clemmer, Edgar James
Clemmer and Rev. Charles Owens; Sisters-Ada Corn and Minnie Harris;
Grandchildren-Michelle Callahan, Korina Clemmer, L. Norman Clemmer,
Rachel Owens and Zachary Owens; Great-grandchildren-Hope Callahan and
Faith Callahan. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, at Chestua
Baptist Church in Madisonville, with the Rev. Charles Owens and Rev.
Leslie Bruce. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in
the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Monterey Baptist Church,

LENA CLEMMER-McGOURY
LINSTEAD, Md. - Lena Altman Clemmer-McGoury, 90, of Linstead, Severna
Park, died May 11, 2004 at her home of 51 years.
She was born Sept. 8, 1913 in Johnsonville, S.C., oldest daughter of
the late Julius Spiers Altman and Lillie Belle Prosser.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Friday, Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 400 Benfield
Road, Severna Park; and also at Morris Funeral Home, Hemingway, S.C.
She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Winthrop University,
Rock Hill, South Carolina, and her Master of Education Degree from
the University of Maryland, College Park.
Mrs. Clemmer-McGoury and her late husband, Monroe Burgin, moved to
Linstead in 1953. They were married for 52 years. She then married a
longtime family friend, Thomas E. McGoury.
The Clemmers are the founding family of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church
in Severna Park. Among her many contributions to the church over the
years, Lena started the church library and its first women's group.
She also was an educator, serving as chairman of the Severna Park
High School business department from 1963-1976. She served as
president of the Anne Arundel County Retired Teachers Association,
and started the Severna Park branch of the American Association of
University Women. In addition, she was involved for more than 40
years with the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, an honorary
sorority that promotes professional and personal growth of women
educators and excellence in education.
Mrs. Clemmer-McGoury was a charter member of the local chapter and
held local, state and national offices in Colonial Dames XVII
Century. She also was an active member of the United States Daughters
of 1812 and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
SURVIVORS: Her daughter and son-in-law, Monlen Anne Clemmer and Paul
Alfred Szoke of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan; and three sisters,
Mrs. Eugene Swenson of Clay Center, Kansas, Mrs. Thomas McCutchen of
Johnsonville, South Carolina and Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Griffis of
Titusville, Florida
