I was wondering if anyone had any information on the
Clymers marrying into the Glover family. These Clymers
and Glovers were (I believe) in the WV area.
I would like to contact anyone who may be related to
these families.
Thanks in advance,
Christina

New Orleans Daily Picayune Sunday August 3, 1890
MARRIED:
McKIM - BROOKE - On Saturday, July 26, 1890, at St. Thomas Church, New York by
the Rt. Rev. William Paret, bishop of Maryland, assisted by the Rev. Haslett
McKim the Rev. Randolph Harrison McKim, D. D. and Mrs. A. M. C. Brooke daughter
of the late Hon. Daniel R. Clymer of Reading, PA.
As many of you know, almost the entire 1890 U.S. census was destroyed in a January 1921 fire in the Commerce Department Building. At the time, the U.S. had a population of 63 million, but the only records saved from the fire were for only 6,000 individuals or 1,200 households (http://www.flash.net/~wrighttx/1890.htm). I was delighted to learn that four of these households were headed by the following Clemmer men in Gaston Co., NC (http://www.flash.net/~wrighttx/1890-CD.htm):
Henry A. Clemmer (age 30)
John F. Clemmer (age 21, my gr-grandfather)
Laban J. Clemmer (age 57, my gr-gr grandfather)
Leroy C. Clemmer (age 30)

Subject: [OHMONTCO] Thelma Fay CLEMMER (CLEMNER?) borm July-30-1905
On the back of a photo of Thelma Fay Clemmer, dated July 1906, is written
"for Grandma Trieschman (Treschman)". My family has a lot of roots in
Dayton (Trieschman, Appenzeller, Breitenbach, Donson, Clark, Johnson), but
none known for Clemmer. Anybody researching Clemmer or Clemner?
Thanks Cliff, you are the first to respond.
How do you descend from this line?
I descend Valentine Felty CLEMMER, John, Anna which is my mother's line..
Which Geo CLEMMER is the one that Miller is with in 1850?
I have an interesting note on the 1850 cen:
1850 Census of Monroe Co, TN #958-137 has Widow Hannah Clemmer 70 NC, Wm
20 TN, Juliann 23, John Dethroe 20, Susanah 17, Sarah 15, Wm Vinzent 11.
[JoAnn Pedersen <joannvp(a)yahoo.com> states 8/25/99 that this Wm VINZENT
is orphaned s/o her gf Hiram VINCENT (1795-1848) & Mary HOUSTON (1800-1845)]
Now for some tougher questions!
Do you know the yr they went to Monroe Co?
Did Jonathan go to Monroe Co, TN alone, or with some of his or her family?
Who is this John YOUNG that lives 2 doors away on that 1830 cen?
I show his parents as Johannes DETHEROW and Mary HOFFMAN. Same as yours?
Would love to see your family sheet on Johannes & Mary. Mine has a lot
of leaves missing.
You have an interesting add. I guess you live near Talihina, OK and
work for the High School??
I was mostly raised in Muskogee Co but we blew out to CA after the dust
settled. I have been into genealogy some 40 years but got serious when
I retired 10 yrs ago and got a computer.
I have a cousin Frank McCauley retired in Talihina who I corres with on
my Dad's line.
I look forward to exchanging with you.

The Clemmer House has been right there since I can remember....what I didn't
remember was that it was called the Clemmer House! It is still there all
right.
Actually, if you get a map of Polk County the Nancy Ward Memorial and grave
site (Cherokee Beloved Woman) is on the south side of the Ocoee River (south
of Benton) and the Clemmer House is on the north side.
(I can't forget the place since my second son was born right there in 1971)
There are several places where the grant maps might be located

Then look for the link to the Historical Society and Marian Presswood...she
will know.
