the only Lewis Clemmer was in the War of 1812. A lot of those old DAR

Subject: McCLOSKEY, Isaac
My maternal great grandfather, Isaac McCloskey, was born in Phila (?),
ca 1847. He married, first, Elizabeth CLYMER in 1877. After her death
in 1893, he remarried a Catharine, surname unknown, and lived in
Chester, Delaware County, PA. I have just located his place of death
and burial. He died in Dec. 1916 in Chester.
If anyone knows of any descendents of this man, or any of his wives, I
would appreciate being contacted. Apparently his only living child of
the first marriage, my grandfather, Robert McCLOSKEY, never saw his
father after the mother's death.

We spoke several days ago. I am glad you have located your line. If you
wish for a bit more info on the Clemmers in Monroe County you can visit
www.tngenweb.org/monroe Look for the link to the Church records then St.
Pauls Lutheran church. Many of the families associated with the Clemmer
Migration are mentioned within this churches records. Another source for
you would be the book "Our Kin" by Laban Miles Hoffman. Available thru
Gaston County, North Carolina Historical Society only about 20.00
Gaston County is also about to come out with their Heritage Book. They may
still be taking pre publication prices if you are interested.

Geoff: It was exciting to meet you on email. ONLY 72? All you need to do
genealogy is prettyd good eyesight. You are really in for a treat because so
much has already been done and known re the Clemmers. Let others email you
the details, and if they don't I will. But need a mailing address. I cannot
email so much material. Dorothy
