Barbara:
It helps a great deal. Thank you very much. I just recently started trying
to do some genealogical research, so am new to the field.
Due to some helpful people like you, I've been able to gather quite a bit on
the ancestral line.

Thank you for the sources you supplied. Very informative. I will be on the
lookout for anything connecting to Clark Winston Young.

Joyce: Please forgive me, I got interrupted and thrown off track for a
minute. I didn't get to include all the info. John Clemmer Young's parents
were John David Young b. 1808 in NC and Anna Clemmer, b 12 June 1812 in NC.
I believe she was the daughter of John Clemmer and Hannah Hoffman. Thought
maybe there was a connection somewhere. Thanks, Geoff Young
Joyce: In reading some of the messages pertaining to the "Our Kin" book, I
am prompted to inquire about one of my Clemmer ancestors, named Elizabeth
Jane Morrow, b. 7 Feb 1836 in Benton, Polk Co, TN, d. 15 Aug 1915 in
Springtown, Parker Co, TX. She married John Clemmer Young (my ggrandfather)
on 1 Feb 1859 in Benton, Polk, TN. He was in the Confederate Army for quite
awhile and after the Civil War the couple migrated to Parker County, TX in
1866. I believe Elizabeth Jane's mother was also Jane. I have little else
about them, but thought perhaps you did. Thank you. Geoff Young

I have been lurking again and not doing much genealogy. The recent
discussions of "Our Kin" prompted me to think about what published works are
there that are valuable to us in researching our Clemmer roots.
What books do you use or have in your library ?
What WebPages have you found valuable in your research ?
John Awald
Clemmers dating back to 1512 I think.
Found on another list;
Source: PAFAYETT-L(a)rootsweb.com
From: JPears691(a)aol.com
Subject: [Pafayett-L] TAGGART/BROWN/WILLIAMS/CLEMMER
I have just found another family connection and was wondering if anyone was
researching this line?
Rev. John BROWN - Pastor of Jacob's Lutheran from 1829-1838
married to Mary TAGGART, b. 1801, VA
They had two known children:
Julianna BROWN who married J.G. WILLIAMS in 1843 and Rebecca W. BROWN who
married John CLEMMER in 1857.
Can anyone help identify any other information about this family?
Thanks,

Joyce. I agree with you also. I am descended from the Clemmers of Monroe
Co. Tenn. and I got a lot out of the Our Kin book. Yes there will always be
errors made but a good researcher can spot those errors and sort them out
usually. The joy of genealogy is in the search or the"hunt", .to find those
elusive ancestors, not neccesarily to show off a printout of a bunch of
names. Cliff---- Original Message -----

Our Kin was a compelation of several southern families from Lincoln and
Gaston Counties in North Carolina. Most of them came from Pennsylvania. I
have relation in both the North Carolina branches and the Pennsylvania
branches. Over time we are linking them together....
Yes, Our Kin has several errors in it and as we find them, we fix them....
We have added many many dates that Our Kin never had.
Thanks!

Almost any book of this type will have errors of some degree ar another.
Nothing is foolproof. It is just like any other book of this type. It is
to be used as a reference and guide book. I'd venture to say if you had 10
researchers standing in a row and all 10 researched the same family...you'd
have at least 10 lineages, maybe 13, and they'd all swear they were right!
