I descend from Sarah Cassandra Boone Willcockson and John Willcockson
through
their youngest son, William Wilcoxsen who died in Kentucky in 1827. He
had a daughter, named Rachel, she married first to John Tibbs, and after
he died, she married James Emory Clymer. They had one child, George Emory
Clymer. He was my great grandfather. If you have any documents on William
"Red" Wilcoxsen and the names of his wives, I would really appreciate
receiving
the information from you. I would love to be of some help to you if I can.
Thanks for posting.

I'm glad you liked some of the stuff I sent to you. We Clemmers are a great
bunch, my side came here from Switzerland some were Mennonites some
Schwenkfelders.
We, you and I, are the walking wounded. I'm holding my own after three
strokes, brain surgery, diabetes, peripheral neurophy and now the latest
heart disease. I have a date for catheterization Friday.
There are all sorts of stories that make genealogy fun and more lifelike than
charts.
Grand something, brother of my great grandfather, took part in the "new"
Mennonites
by being the preacher at the early on meeting of the new conference at my
wife's
family's meeting house in 1847, both my wife and I are Episcopals.
Or there is my great-grand mother whose husband Rev. Sam died from something
he caught in Oley Pennsylvania. He sold his farm and moved to the First
Mennonite Church
in Philadelphia as its first pastor. He died after two years and left her,
Judith, with
five kids in an English speaking city. She stayed and raise those five kids
one to
marry into the church of New York, another was an organ and piano salesman,
another
a big manufacturer, still another an organist and a druggist and a daughter
who was
never married.
My dad grew up a Mennonite but took part in America's only surface naval
engagement of WW 1. He was the only medical officer for the fleet of
subchasers and was decorated for bravery by America, Italy, Greece and France.
Both cousin Joel and I served in the South Pacific. Joel had his foot shot up
at Iwo.
Pretty good for a pacifists and the grandchildren of a Mennonite Preacher!
We are a great bunch, we Clemmers. Be proud of us who never give up.

I am afraid I haven't been the best Clemmer-L member. I read most of the
posts but haven't done much with them. I am amazed by what Danny Clemmer
has done for us - Thanks, Danny !
Dorothy is another one of us that truly amazes me. I wish there were some
way we could encourage her to get all this written down in one place. Dare
I suggest the new version of MY KIN ????
I know many others have worked equally hard and I do not mean to slight
anyone. However we all owe a debt to Danny and Dorothy.

Vivian: That was a very exciting email you posted. Yes, Johan Ludwig
Klemmer
was a blacksmith, as was his son Jacob Clemmer. But, Johan Ludwig was born
about 1713, so it must have been his father's trophy glass. Far as I know,
the Klemmers lived in the area of Friedesheim-Meckenheim, and had gone there
as immigrants from Switzerland about 1688. Henrich Klemmer immigrated to
Philadelphia, Pa about 1730, with a son Andreas, and a son left behind,
Johan Ludwig Klemmer. Johand Ludwig was born about 1713 and immigrated
about 1742, with his already bride, Anna Boeckels. Lets talk further about
this. Dorothy. I have done some research. Dorothy

Vivian: I am curious how you descend from Henry/Ludwig Klemmer. Ludwig
Klemmer and Anna Elizabeth Boeckels came in 1751 or earlier, by way of
Philadelphia where his father Henry was living to what is now Adams County,
and then York County. Though York county did not separate from Lancaster
County until 1752. Anna Eliz Boeckels family was from Meckenheim, and her
father had already died there. She had an uncle living in LIttletown,
Adams/York County , Valentine Boeckel. She also had a brother Valentine
Boeckel. Ludwig, Anna Eliz and brother were all killed by Delaware Indians
in 1757just beyond the border with Maryland. Tow of the boys were taken into
captivity for 8 years. I have a document re their release. I Also have the
court documents re the estates of Ludwig and the estate of Valentine. These
were distributed to the 4 boys about 1768. The youngest and the oldest boys
were not taken captive. I am a descendant of the oldest , Casper/Jasper
throughhis son Jacob. They lived at York Furnace before the Revolution.
They were blacksmiths. Have you seen the Clemmer biography writtten by Jacob
about 1850 (rather, told to his grandson, who wrote it up about 1900 . In it
, is an indignant recounting of the French massacre of St. Bartholomew's eve
at which time the Klemmers, the Neffs, and the Blossers left France, and fled
to Bern (Blossers) and to Zurich (Klemmers). They lived in a little town
called Affoltern am Albis, not from Zurich. They were Protestant, and there
was an early Protestant Reformer and church there--Ulrich Zwingli. A story
in itself. Bye for now. Dorothy
