I am new to this list and am searching for information on my CLYMER family. I
am descended from Henry CLYMER b January 20, 1776 in Bucks County, PA and d
February 1, 1836 in Miami County, Macy, Indiana. He married Phebe Wharton b
February 11, 1780 and died October 15, 1856 in Macy, Miami County, Indiana.
They moved from Bucks Co., PA to Lebanon, Ohio in 1805 and owned a produce
company there which may have been Swift. If there are any CLYMER descendants
on this list and someone is more interested in this line I will send an e-mail
listing all the information I have. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Dear Kathy Nelson,
I found an Andrew Clemmer among my Clemmer relatives. I am a descendant
of George Ludwig Clemmer of Rockbridge Co, Va. My line of descent is
through his son also named George Ludwig Clemmer who settled in Augusta
Co., Va..
The earlier George Ludwig Clemmer had a son Andrew Clemmer born March 3,
1779 in Pennsylvania. He married Sarah (Schwartz) Black April 10, 1807 in
Rockingham Co., Va. He was a farmer. Andrew Clemmer left Rockingham Co.,
Va. about 1814 and was in Montgomery Co, Ohio on Oct. 17, 1834. He died
Sept. 25, 1849 and is buried at the Clemmer Cemetery, Perry Township, Ohio.
Andrew Clemmer's brother, David F. Clemmer, is also said to have moved to
Montgomery Co., Ohio. David Clemmer was born Setp. 11, 1780 in Adams Co.,
Pa. and chr. Oct. 1, 1780 Littlestown, Adams Co.,Pa. He married Martha
Wilson May 11, 1806 in Rockingham Co., Va. David F. Clemmer sold land on
Sept. 14, 1814 in Rockingham Co., Va. and was also in Montgomery Co., Ohio
Oct. 17, 1834. He died Dec. 19, 1848 and is buried at Sugar Hill, Preble,
Ohio.
I wish I could say I uncovered all this wonderful information myself but
another Clemmer researcher very generously gave me my entire Clemmer
ancestry. I am not certain if this Andrew Clemmer is the one you are
looking for but this one was in your area.
Good luck

Have any of you researching the Hoffman-Clemmer line ( my line is John
CLEMMER b. 1778 m. Hannah HOFFMAN b. 1780) noted a strange thing about
their children? Maybe it wasn't so strange in those days.
John and Hannah married in 1803 and had 9 children through Hannah B.
Clemmer born 1816. At that time the mother Hannah HOFFMAN CLEMMER was 36
years old. Then six years later in 1823 she supposedly had George when
she was 43 years old, (still plausible); and Julia Ann who was born in
1827 when Hannah was 47, (isn't that a little old?); and then William was
born in 1830 when she was 50 years old!
I descend from Julia Ann CLEMMER who married Houston VINCENT and do know
that after Houston died young at sea, Julia Ann was found on the 1850
census living with Hannah Hoffman Clemmer in Monroe Co., TN,(even though
Julia Ann said she was born in NC and her mother said she was born in TN)
I have always taken that to mean the Julia Ann was Hannah's daughter.
However Hannah also had living with her orphaned Vincent children from
from the Hiram and Mary (Polly) Houston Vincent family so she seems to be
one who would take children in need in.
Does anyone know about this William CLEMMER b. 1830 m. Mary Ann Ensley?
I guess my real question is: Could Hannah HOFFMAN CLEMMER had children at
50 years of age?

I just joined the list and would like to know if anyone has information on my
Clemmer line. HANNAH CLEMMER born in 1830 in Ohio was the daughter of ANDREW

Danny and others --
FYI ... the message in question went to the SUTTON List, too. In my humble
opinion, I think it's a small price to pay for maintaining an "open"
discussion list.
The surnames lists that are "closed" (only subscribers can post) have fewer
queries posted because they are reaching, for the most part, the same
people over and over.
If ... it ever becomes a serious problem, I would reconsider my personal
opinion. So far, Clemmer/Klemmer queries are hard to come by and I wouldn't
build any walls around the List.

I'm sure everybody out there received the little notice from
n08i(a)jqj632.net, I received it three times. It has been my intension to
allow nonsubscribers to post to the list. Because this is the first time
such a mailing has been sent I'm inclined to let it pass and assume it won't
happen again. If any of you feel other wise please me know directly at
dlcict(a)worldnet.att.net . We havn't had a lot of traffic but we don't need
this kind either.
In other news, we have had some people leave, and added several others.
Our total count is still around 55.It might be wise to repost some of the
queires for the benifit of the new subscribers.

Reply: jclymer(a)fullerton.edu Dorothea, Thanks for the info. Would like
details on Velte
Clemmer in Lancaster Co PA in 1727 because I have LANCASTER CO. PA wasn't
Formed
until 1729 from existing Chester Co PA. We wondered why our Clemmer were in
Lancaster
Co in 1747, so far from the other Clemmer around Philadelphia. Do you have
any idea why?
Maybe we need to look at the Chester Co PA records. Thanks Charles Hite
Hello everyboby! I'm passing along an email sent by Brian Leverich, one of
the primary people at rootweb. As I have said this is a "FREE" list but,
should you desire to help defray costs you can beome a member for as little
as $12.00. Please, don't think it is in anyway a requirement and definitely
DO NOT send any money to me.
Thank you and now back to the task at hand of finding those lost relatives.
