Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thanks, Frank. I just needed a bit of clarification as to location. You
folks from the Felty line are not the same as my own but I am always
trying to learn more about our family (even if we had to marry into the
line--which is what I did) VBG
It is very good practice for all of us by the way to include a bit more
information that might be necessary (ie the county and the state) also
let's post our own e-mail addresses. I like to know how to contact each
of you folks if I need to.
Isn't this list GREAT ?! Thanks Danny and Milo !!!

Greetings to John Awald and the list:
I am Frank Clemmer of Marietta, GA. John Awald and I corresponded a bit
a
while back. The Email you read was posted by Charles Hite, who with John
Clemmer has done a lot of research on the Clemmer family. Gaston county
includes Gastonia and Dallas, NC, where a Clemmer reunion is held the
second weekend each August. I went to my first reunion last year, and
found folks to be exceptionally friendly and inclusive. Most all were
from NC, and descended from Valentine "Felty" Clemmer born 1747 in
Philadelphia, PA as am I (at least, I am descended from Felty--I'll let
you judge whether I may be
friendly!). Lenny Clemmer is very knowledgeable and has saved a lot of
archival type records. Alas, Lenny does not do computers.

Lenny Clemmer has maintained and repaired the site for years out of respect

us that the cemetery has to be moved. It will create jobs. Mr Len

This came through on the Clemmer List today, I am not sure from whom:
"Also it appears Gaston Co is going to built an industrial park near
Dallas, over the George Clemmer cemetery. Said George son of Valentine
Clemmer dec 1785 PA----Anyone who wants to see the original site should get
here this summer, before the graves are moved."
My questions: Gaston County, what state ??
and: has anyone photographed the Clemmer tomb stones ? Sure would be nice
to get these recorded before some of our heritage is lost !

had written him about the Lincoln-Gaston Co Clemmer family, and
he would like to correspond with others, but alas he has no computer. -Lenny

Looking for any info on Bishop Valentine Klemmer VIII and any Clemmer of Bucks and Montgomery counties of Pennsylvania.
Thanks
Looking for any info on a Bishop Valentine Klemmer who came to the new world in 1717 to Philadelphia. This name has become Clemmer and later Clymer. Thanks for help.
Hello everybody, things have been rather quite around here lately so I
thought I would stir things up a bit. In the recent past, I have had a
computer crash and lost some files I thought I had backed up. Among these
was my genealogy database. While I was able to recover the bulk of
information (thanks to my brother-in-law) I noticed some information
missing. I do have printed copies so I laboriously tackled the task of
reentering the information. My problem is, I have uncovered an error (I'm
sure not the last). Could anybody out there help me sort out the following?
CLEMMER, William B.
B: 29 May 1867
D: 20 Mar 1923
The conflict is I have two names for his Wife both have the same
birth and death dates. Which is correct?
Cooper, Ida F.
B: 10 May 1874
D: 16 Mar 1967
Garringer, Ida F.
B: 10 May 1874
D: 16 Mar 1967

My father's name was Thomas J. Clemmer. He was born in Nappanee, Indiana,
in 1917; moved to Long Beach, California in 1923.

Thank you for your letter. Actually, I have no idea of the source, if you
will, of my father's father's family other than from Indiana. As for
growing up in the area not knowing of other Clemmers, that was also our
family's experience.

Sorry. In the late 60s, my father (Lewis A. Clemmer) lived in Long Beach, CA,
for a couple years. My brother (Thomas A.) lived in the valley and I lived in
Huntington Beach, but I never knew any other Clemmers there. Any conection in
your line with North Carolina?
Gene C.
My father came from Nappanee, Indiana. He was born in 1917 and in 1923 his
family moved to Long Beach CA. His father was Carl Clemmer. I know
virtually nothing else. Do you have any knowledge of these Clemmers?
