I have a William F Clements and James Clements, brothers and sons of James
Monroe Clements. William F Clements born Jan 25 1843 in Georgia and died
September 8 1863. For James Clements I have him born in Georgia between
1845-1846 and died November 2 1862. Notes (from where I don't know)
indicate both died in the Civil War. Their death dates (if accurate) would
certainly lead one to believe their deaths were associated with the Civil
War. I believe they both were in the 44th Georgia Infantry Regiment but
different Companies. I have no record of where their death dates came
from. Much of this information I obtained from another source and it was
undocumented.
James Monroe Clements was born in 1809 in Georgia and died October 11, 1890
in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. His wife was Mary C. Allen. It appears
they had only one child, out of 5, to survive them...my Great Grandfather
Ben Taylor Clements. Way to go Ben!!
I am trying to confirm death dates and circumstances for William and James.
Any suggestions or direction would be appreciated.
