Wisbech and Emneth (seems to be near to Wisbech, but just over the border in
Norfolk) are about 55 miles from Steeple Morden.
I have found your family in Wisbech in 1841, but cannot find them anywhere
in 1851. I have found John, Martha and son Robert in 1861.
I am not aware of any obvious connection between our CLEMENTS families.
Kevin.

Thanks, Kevin. I have already found my Clements in the census for 1841
through 1901. I was just hoping to find a living descendant of theirs who still
resides in Cambridgeshire or Wisbech. I
also received extraordinary help from two ladies who live in Cambridgeshire
who did some look-ups for me out of the kindness of their hearts. I hope
you are able to find the same kind of help.
Good Luck!

I don't know if our Clements are connected but here is what I have of mine:
My great-great-grandfather, John Clements, was born in Emneth,
Cambridgeshire in 1802 and died in 1890 in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk. His children
were Harriet, 1833; Thomas 1832; Henry 1829, John 1825, James 1830, Robert
1841 and William 1842. Harriet was my great-grandmother and she came to
America in 1858 and died here in 1907.
I do not have any Clements earlier than that at the moment. Since I live in
the USA, I don't have any idea how close Emneth and Wisbeck are to your
Ashwell and Steeple Morden but I suppose there could be a connection.
