There is a lady named Pat Griffith who is the Clements DNA Project
Coordinator that knows an awful lot about the Clements/Clemons/etc. that were in
Virginia. You can contact her at OldVaLady @aol.com Virginia Clements

Edward Clements, master, made several voyages from London to the American
Colonies in the 1670/1685 period. In 1684 he purchased land on the Rariton
river in New Jersey. He later sold that land and purchased land in Old
Gloucester co, West New Jersey. He died in 1715 leaving a son Edward, jr and
daughters Hannah, Rachel,Sarah and Mary.
The name has been variously spelled Clemments, Clemens, Clemons.
I am searching for Captain Edward Clements English roots.... parents,
residence, marriage, etc.
Does anyone know about this family? There may have been another sea captain
Bartholomew Clements who settled in Surry, VA about the same time related
to Captain Edward.
There is a possibility that Captain Edward Clements may have been associated
with William Penn.
Thanks for any help in locating these English roots of my Clements(Clemens)
ancestor.
Jessie, California
Is anyone out there looking for a Clements' line who settled in the Northeast? All of your Clements, Clemens, Clemons people seem to have settled in the south or Midwest. My great-grandfather Alexander Clements emigrated to the US with his wife Anna in the 1860's. Their children's names were William, John, Joseph, Elizabeth and Bertram(Albert). Alex was born in Larne, Co Antrim, Ireland abt 1840. According to the 1851 Larne census, his parents were John Clements ( a fisherman) and Ellen Jackson. Alex's siblings were William, Nancy and George. I suspect that the family originally came from England. If anyone thinks they have a connection, please reply. Thanks. Jean Ryan Driscoll
I can tell you now that I have found my maiden name spelled 4 ways in my
ancestors. Don't let that bother you. First, our family bible spells it
Clemments, marriage licenses spell it Clements, census spell it clemons, and
Clemmons, as well as Clement. Virginia
Perhaps, a death certificate will tell who his parents were.
I DON'T KNOW WHO KENNETH RAYMOND CLEMENTS/CLEMENS'S FATHER WAS, I NEED TO
GET HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE FROM DE MOINES, IOWA. I AM CLEMENS, BUT THEIR IS
CONFUSION AS THIS TIME ABOUT THE CHANGE, LINDA THOMPSON CLEMENS
I have heard the same story that you have heard and my cousin Adrienne and I
have tried to piece together what we think is his life. Maybe three wives.
Virginia
I am sending you an attachment of the Descendants of Andrew Jackson
Clements. If this is your ancestor, I can send my more of his siblings info. The
attachment will print off 15 pages. Virginia Clements Tuttle in Marietta, Ga.
Where did they live?
