Dear Listers,
I am looking for information on the line of CLEMENTS from the West
Peckham and East Peckham villages of middle Kent, UK. In
particular James CLEMENTS (b1804) and married to Sarah (maybe
nee Hunt?), who had 13 offspring, whom I am trying to trace. One
of these is my g-g-father, George CLEMENTS (b ca 1837) and
married to Alice. He eventually left Kent and had gardening jobs in
Lancashire and Warwickshire.
I would be very glad to correspond with anybody with connections
(possible or otherwise) to this line.
David Blackmore (Chester, UK)
I am trying to find info on my 3rd great gran mother EDNA C.CLEMENTS she
married JOHN MADISON Jr.in Tuscaloosa county Ala.John was born in 1840.
There is other CLEMENTS who married into the same families in my line;
JAMES C.CLEMENTS mar.LOU MANDY MADISON dau.of Thomas B Madison
SUSAN ELIZABETH CLEMENTS
ANDREW CLEMENTS mar.REBECCA MADISON
All in Tuscaloosa,Fayette and Walker Counties in Alabama.
Does these names ring a bell with anyone?
My 3rd great grandmother Edna C.Clements was also listed as Edney
C.Clements. I was also told she may have been Indian.
Her Father may have been MANNING CLEMENTS OF TUSCALOOSA AL.
any one with info please let me know.

Hi
For many years I have been researching my mother's HODGKINS family. My
research has lead me to discover that our ancestors originated in and around
the Stow On The Wold area, especially Broadwell and
Donnington, although there are other surrounding villages involved in the
HODGKINS history. At present I'm specifically trying to untangle the
relationship of John Charles HODGKINS with two women
Rose Ellen CLEMENTS and Mary Louisa PAYNE
MARY LOUISA PAYNE
Born around 1860 possibly in the Stow in the Wold, Gloucestershire. She
married John Charles HODGKINS 25 December, 1883. I cannot trace her on any
census. In the 1891 Census John is still married but to who ? His wife is
not with him at the time of the census. I don't know if she dies but by 1896
John Charles HODGKINS is no longer with her.
ROSE CLEMENTS
Rose Ellen, normally known as just Rose was born on 14 January, 1867 at
Weston Subedge. I have located her in the 1871 & 1881 Censuses but cannot
find her in the 1891. I desperately want to know where she was in 1891.
Later she married John Charles HODGKINS although this is in some doubt
because although she was named as the mother of her child Godfrey Clement
HODGKINS I cannot find their marriage. She died in 1934 as Rose Ellen
HODGKINS but where is she in 1891 and where and when did her marriage take
place. These are the questions I would dearly love answered.
If you have any
info on Rose Ellen CLEMENTS, Mary Louisa PAYNE or later HODGKINS' I would
love to hear from
you.
My HODGKINS family have proved to an elusive bunch of ancestors. I have been
fairly successful through the middle part of the 19th C but before and
after, they seemed to have almost disappeared. In England there seems to be
no one tracing them.
As you might glean from my words I am desperate for information on the
HODGKINS family. I would be so thankful for any details or any additional
data you could possibly send me. If you would like to know more about my
research then
please let me know.
Smiles & Best Wishes
Paul
