Greetings Clement(s) cousins
I am researching the line of Robert Clements (b 1595)/Lydia Drummer (b bef.
1598). Is the book entitled "Ancestors and Descendants of Robert Clements"
by Percival Wood Clement, 1927, two volumes, considered one of the better
Clements writings and can therefore be taken somewhat seriously as far as
"proof" of this line? Is there another and/or better writing that documents
this family?
I also understand that someone is in the process of updating Percival
Clements' book with new information on more recent descendants. Who might
this be, and how does one contact him/her?

Season's greetings to all. This is my first post to the list. My
husband's ancestors include Ruth CLEMENT and Georges Henri Hercule
HENAULT, who married in "Nov. 1850" in Vermont.
I would like to trade information with others studying the following
CLEMENT line.
Information from another researcher shows Ruth was born 9 Feb 1829 in
de Ramesay, Quebec. What follows is a brief outline taken from the
same source.
Ruth's father was Timothy CLEMENT, born 24 Feb 1788 in Rochester,
Vermont. Timothy's parents were Isaac CLEMENT, born 8 Feb 1760 in
Hopkinton, NH, and Dorothy McHORNE, born about 1761 in Holland, NH.
Ruth's mother was Mary REID, born 1792 in Rhode Island and died 1850
in de Ramesay, Quebec.
Ruth is said to descend from Richard CLEMENT who died in Croft,
County Leicester, England in February, 1571. The line of descent is
given as follows:
1. Richard CLEMENT, Croft (wife Elizabeth --)
2. Robert CLEMENT, buried 1585, Croft (Margaret --)
3. Richard CLEMENT, buried 1617, Cosby, County Leicester (Agnes --)
4. Robert CLEMENT(S), born Cosby; emigrated to New England in 1642;
died 1658 at Haverhill, Massachusetts (married 1. Lydia --; 2. Judith
--)
5. Robert CLEMENT, born about 1634 (Elizabeth FAWNE)
6. Robert CLEMENT, born 1665 in Haverhill; died Dracut, Mass.
(Deliverance ODIORNE)
7. Nathaniel CLEMENT, born Haberhill 1696, died Dracut, Mass. or
Pelham, NH (first wife: Elinor COLBURN)
8. Timothy CLEMENT (Capt.), born 1728, Dracut, Mass; died 1819 "in
Vermont" (Jemima CHANDLER)
9. Isaac CLEMENT (Sgt.), born 1760 in Hopkinton, NH; died 1846 in
Holland, Vermont (Dorothy McHORNE)
10. Timothy CLEMENT, born 1788 in Rochester, Vermont; died 1837 in
Dunham, Quebec (Mary REID)
Children of Timothy CLEMENT and Mary REID are listed as: Sophronia
(b. 1815), Melissa, John, Isaac, Lucy Ann, Henry, "Roxana-J.",
Sewall, Ruth, "Sydney- Timothy", and Leonard (b. 1832). Ruth is my
husband's great-great-grandmother. She is said to have died in 1865
[the place of her death is unclear].
With best wishes,
Frances Bishop

I am trying to find information on William Campbell= Sarah who left a will
in Augusta Co. Va. dated Oct 5 1754, witnessed by Jacob Clements who married
Mary Campbell, the daughter of William Campbell. William=Sarah were my 5g
Gramdparents--Jacob Clements and Mary Campbell were my 4g Grandparents.
Jacob Clements will was dated Aug 21 1759 in Augusta Co. Va. Jacob Clements
had a daughter Rachael who married James Barnett, Jr. of Montgomery Co. Va.
and they were my 3g Grandparents . His will was dated 7 4 1808 in Montgomery
Co. Va.
I have a list of all of the children of above 3 families. However, What I
am trying to do is to extend these three lines back in time. Another task is
to find out if my gggg Grandmother Mary Catherine Campbell = Michael Woods.
Sr. of Albmarle Co Va. is related to these Campbells of Augusta Co. Va.
If anyone is related to the above lines or researching same, I would like to
exchange information.

Suzy (and other Listers)
I am very interested in any Irish Clements. I have met some of these
people you have turned up in the Relief Commission papers indices already.
Will post a tree with some of them on it soon. But others on your list are
new to me and very welcome.
Can you tell me please (1) The date of the Relief Commission Papers? (2)
Whether the full papers still exist or only the indices? (3) What area of
Ireland they are concerned with? (4) Anything else about them?

Just found a marriage record for Jonathan Clements b. 1808's marriage to
Nancy Williams on March 8, 1831, Estill Co., KY. Please add this to my query
before this one. If anyone has any information on this Williams line also,
please contact me.
Thanks.

Please contact me at Joanjmm(a)aol.com if you have a connection or any
information regarding the following Clements family of 1850 Estill Co., KY,
census - Jonathan's daughter Elizabeth married Solomon Park and a Harvey R.
Clements signed her bond.
Descendants of Jonathan Clements
Generation No. 1
1. Jonathan1 Clements was born 1808 in Kentucky. He married Nancy ?.
She was born 1808 in Kentucky.
Children of Jonathan Clements and Nancy ? are:
2 i. Sally B.2 Clements, born 1832 in Estill Co., Kentucky.
3 ii. John R. Clements, born 1834 in Estill Co., Kentucky.
4 iii. Elizabeth Ann Clements, born 1835 in Estill Co., Kentucky.
She married Solomon D. Park, Jr. October 26, 1854 in Mrs. Nancy Clements (the
bride's mother), Estill Co., KY, recorded in Estill Co., KY, Marriage
Records, Vol. #2, page 122, Vol. #3, page 16, & Vol. #13, page 12; born 1834
in Estill Co., Kentucky.
5 iv. James M. Clements, born 1837 in Estill Co., Kentucky.
6 v. William T. Clements, born 1840 in Estill Co., Kentucky.
7 vi. David H. Clements, born 1842 in Estill Co., Kentucky.
8 vii. Jasper N. Clements, born 1843 in Estill Co., Kentucky.
9 viii. Zachary T. Clements, born 1847 in Estill Co., Kentucky.
10 ix. Gustavus H. Clements, born 1849 in Estill Co., Kentucky.
I am searching for information about my 4th Great Grandfather. I have his
name as Jesse Clemens, born 1794 in North Carolina, married Elizabeth in
about 1825 (most likely in Tennessee) and died about 1835 in Washington Co,
Arkansas.
I know that two of his daughters were Sarah E. (married Hardy Harp) born
about 1823 in Tennessee and Nancy Jane (married Absolum Harp) born 17 May
1826 in Tennessee. He apparently arrived in Northwest Arkansas in about
1828, along with the Harp and Vaughan families.
I found Jesse Clemmons listed in the Washington Co. Arkansas Tax List for
1828, 1830 and 1832. The 1830 Federal Population Census for Washington Co.
only lists Joseph Clemmons.
1830 Washington Co Census has
Joseph Clemmons
w/m 30-40 years=1
w/f under 5 yrs=2
w/f 20-30 years=1
In 1820 I found a Joseph Clemmons listed in Bedford County, Tennessee.
For Tennessee marriages I found: Clements, Jesse married Norris, Lucinda on
25 Mar 1823 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.
For the War of 1812 Muster Rolls I found:
Clements Jesse Rangers, United States Volunteers. Private
Clements Joseph D Rangers, United States Volunteers. Sergeant
Clements Joseph L Rangers, United States Volunteers. Sergeant
Does anyone have more details on any or all of the Jesses and Josephs that I
found here? I would like to determine whether or not the Jesses shown here
are in fact the same person I am looking for, and what the relationship of
Joseph is to Jesse. I am certain the Jesse Clemmons on the Washington Co.
Tax List is the right person, I am uncertain about the others.
thanks,
jim
